Tsukiakari's Ideal world

[ When you come to, you find yourself inside some sort of theater. There are no seats, but the stage in front of you is lit up. Though the background that’s been put there is most definitely fake, the light of the moon, the movement of the trees and the petals scattered in the wind seem incredibly real, so much so that it’s easy to question whether it truly is background or not.

You feel sleepy, still, but you’ve been slumbering for far too long and something inside you is telling you to get up. Go out. You have to wake up. There are tears running down your face, but you might be too distracted to notice them, because soon enough you hear music coming from somewhere.

For a moment, at the center of the stage you can see a shadowy figure dancing under the moonlight. As it fades away, unmistakable, you can hear Tsukiakari’s narrating voice. ]

"You were born with a face fairer than any other.
You were divinely created, but you were cast aside like worthless dross."

"You are a failure. Too fragile to be a tool or a human. But this is a story after all, and you’re the one who will choose the way it unfolds. Write it all from scratch or stick to the script - it's up to you after all."

You wanted to fight. Then fight her.

[ And just as he says that, the corpse in front of Vergil will move again, rising up a little creepily. He can tell that is definitely a corpse still, but she moves just fine, enough that she can just up and take out a sword out of her boobs ]

Whether you survive or not, I don't care.

Hah, and you are making me fight your battles now too? At least make sure it is fun then.

[Where else would you take a sword from? Even though he complains, he looks awfully pleased. He waits for her though, not moving to draw his sword until the last second to block any strike with the scabbard, and attempt to stab her with the sword in one motion.]

[ He can't seem to land his hit - the Shogun herself is clearly a formidable foe, and all of her movements are precise and deadly. If Vergil is not careful enough, he'll be the one getting skewered.

But why is he fighting? After all it's true. This isn't his fight. And this corpse, this woman, could just take over his body at any time.

If she wanted to there would be nothing left of what makes Vergil himself.

And as he keeps fighting, this knowledge will feel more and more like certainty. ]

[...Don't like that. He keeps trying to tell himself it's just what this dream is deciding, but that's easier to do when it feels less like truth.

But still, even when it does seem certain, that's just all the more reason to keep fighting so it doesn't happen. With his own powers he's just about as difficult to touch, and when he is struck, well that hardly makes a difference to him. This is a fun fight. Even though the idea of losing is becoming a bit terrifying.]

[ Who said anything about losing? As if she couldn't take you over right as you fight.

Why doesn't she?

Enjoy the fight while it lasts, because it doesn't. Not for long. There's another flash and the room itself changes once more - you can see what was once a beautiful palace, and Raiden Shogun walking from her throne toward you - alive.

But her expression looks different and she looks remorseful. ]

[ Did you like crying when you woke up? Because now you're crying again! There are tears running down your face and the Shogun is close to you again - only this time she's held in your arms as you just managed to stab her.

Did you actually fight her? You don't remember, but you probably feel disappointed ]

...Making us go through the motions, act out your fantasy and thoughts, is there anything satisfying about that to you? How pointless.

I told you from the start.

You are a puppet. Why did you expect anything different? Do you honestly think it matters whether you are satisfied or not?

Does it matter? This is only a story after all, and I'm writing my own ending.

If you don't like it, then write another.

That would make things so much easier.

Re: The Throne Room

A little bit of both.

She sought "eternity". And so she created vessels to store "a god's heart".

But I was only a prototype. And I was deemed a failure.
