[Dull weapons always sucked for This Very Reason and he's hard to breathe and he hates this, he hates this, he hates this-]
[He really had been so lucky in games to avoid these kinds of things-]
[But no matter how much he hates it, no matter the fear, no matter the pain, there is one thing Hiccup Haddock is, and that's stubborn as nothing else when it comes to someone he cares about.]
There’s the sound of canned (or perhaps just poorly recorded?) screams from speakers set into the ceiling. There’s a blast of mildly chilly air, too, no doubt a part of whatever Punishment #2 was supposed to be.
But the screams cut off, and the air returns to its normal temperature.
Panels open up in the ceiling, mechanical hands reaching out to grab the character. If they wanted to leave, it’s definitely too late now.
Several hands force them to kneel to nearly kowtow, while other hands move to scrape the cloth on their backs off—a few other hands situate themselves as though to protect the front of the idol, like, listen, this is a family friendly show—
Before a red-hot design plate descends from the ceiling to press onto every unprotected idol's back, burning the pattern onto their backs. Each pattern is highly detailed, unique to the idol (ooc player choice!) and aesthetically beautiful, many patterns an artistic rendition of the idol's failure(s). Also, it's all very, very painful, each plate pressed to make sure the pattern won't disappear.
After the irons lift, the mechanical hands spray ?some sort of mist? onto each branded idol's back, before releasing them. It's a little cool, but not enough to alleviate the pain at all.

[He. Skips. Nothing.]

It’s almost time.
Do they really want to sit through this?
Re: Cw: exsanguination
Oh yeah, I just agreed to go through all the stuff before to chicken out now. [There's a bit of a manic laugh.]
I've decided to understand Izanagi, and I'm going to understand Izanagi!
[NO SKIPPING.]

Your character wakes up, fully healed and without any signs of branding, in a room. Their hangman game has been updated.
