I was actually quite useless without her. They tried to dispose of her-- saying those parts were "unnecessary". But when we were separated... everything felt wrong and I lost control of myself.

It is not so severe now, but we will never be as good apart as we are together.

[ What he says gives her two very divergent feelings, filling the space where her memories should be. She draws and breath and pushes past it. ]

That's -- awful. [ And it makes her angry. What is it with humans and thinking they have the right to toy with those that are different? ]

I don't know all the details yet, but I was something of an experiment myself. Humans can be wonderful, but then they can also do things like that.

By their own admission, they had created their perfect God. Those parts would only get in the way.

[He shakes his head.]

It is... ironic... that which they were so keen to discard as unnecessary loves them so relentlessly, seeking nothing in return. And nothing would be kind, in comparison. They have taken and taken and taken from her everything that she would give and then more by force, only to give her nothing but pain and suffering in turn.

Her love will never be reciprocated the way it should. And they will never be worthy of even a fraction of her sacrifice.

[His laughter is soft, but broken all the same.]

...yet I am showered with meaningless praise and adoration that I could not care less for. An utter waste.

Then they've failed twice: once for disregarding her value, and once for failing to make you dance to their tune, because you love her and hate them, don't you? That couldn't fall very much in line with their plans.

I didn't know the whole of it until I returned. But while I have no qualms sharing it with you all-- it's not exactly a normal discussion to bring to the table without a reason.

...not at all. I apologize-- I am not the most open of books. However, it is not for any lack of willingness to share those things.

Ironically, though it puts space between us, I prefer to do what I can for her from here-- and not only for the sake of trying to protect that secret. I am quite content where I am, with the people I am with.

Mm, I understand... I'm sure that all of us will do our best to help too, so please make sure to let us know if there's anything that we can do - okay? If you're her older brother, then it's good to do your best to protect her, isn't it?

...I thank you. You have always taken great care to respect everyone's wishes in that regard and it has not gone unnoticed. I'm not sure it's fair to call me the older, though it is technically true. Protecting her is my one truest, greatest wish.
