[ he can hear that, the sound Maki's knife makes in the air near him, the weird, wet sound of the cut--and then the heavy, overly warm weight of blood and a collapsed body against him. That all happened very fast, and it takes him a few seconds to catch up and remember that he can fix this ]
[ X reaches Maki and Doodleman just as his vision goes, but he still manages to crash into Maki with enough force that he carries them both sprawling several meters (because they are japanese!obv!) out of anybody's knifing-radius ]
