HEARTFORGE - pep!pep! (Session 2)

You are in the heart of a massive forge. In front of you are tools, and your objective is clear - to use them to channel the strength of your heart and create.

What are you creating? Who can say. Only you - and only you'll know if - and when, it's good enough. The stories before you are not yours right now, but you'll make them yours soon enough.

And you will survive.

...what do you mean by "exist as a person"?
thisismagrave: (Old stories)

As an individual. As....yourself.

In society, there are roles. You have the rulers, the enforcers, the judges, those positions every society has, even with different names. The person isn't important, as there being a person who fits that role and can perform it. They're meant to be replaceable if they can't perform.

Standing out as themselves isn't important. Only that they're fulfilling their role to the upmost perfection.

But you can't befriend that role, only the individual. But being an individual in an important role means you can't be perfect more often then not, so you have to stop.

[ okay you know what that hits like way too close to home but also we're not going to unpack that right now ]

...okay. So, then, the worst happens, and people realize that inside, she's not really that person, and gets cast aside. So, she tries to find a way to make everything like it used to be.

[This train ain't gonna stop with this kind of story, have fun Saffron.]

Which is when she doubles down on the role, but it doesn't really change anything for interpersonal relationships.

As nice as that'd be.

[ yeah she's uh. she's getting that impression, buddy, ]

...but regardless of whether her performance worked or not, it seems like the revelation that she couldn't be the performance changed everything.

[Its a Problem where he overshares. Or a subconscious cry for help. One of those.]

Yeah, but something with the power to think she could force it.

Probably in a leadership or judgement position.

Or—maybe her "loving parents" were, and she was expected to follow in their footsteps...?

[ she's not raising an eyebrow externally but she is, internally. ]
thisismagrave: (Hum.)

[Haha, that is also closer then he would like, but-]

So her work was something else?

Maybe her work was more like—trying to be just like her parents, in whatever they were doing. Being leaders, I guess.
thisismagrave: (Maybe we could)

So they lead one thing and she lead something else?
identitypolitics: (37; than any place else.)

...maybe they put her in charge of something to see how she'd do at it?

Maybe—well, if it's memories we're sharing, we should pick something that one of us has done. You've had leadership positions before, after all.
thisismagrave: (Maybe we could)

....

Yeah, I have.

I can probably do the second event. I have a few instances that...probably count. Kind of two for two with bad fall outs with new 'friends.'

Emotion 2 could also be dutiful.
