[Reaches out to poke a finger against the spot between P's eyebrows]

--eh? [goes crosseyed looking up at him]

What's that for?

Lord...mortals truly are fools.

[grabbing his hand--frustration, confusion, and determination]

What does that say about someone who walks among them? We're gonna win this, and we'll use every emotion we have at our disposal.

[-!!! Swats! At! His! Hand!]

Ow!! [SURPRISE BUT STILL DETERMINED. STRONG!!! FEELINGS!!!!!!!]

Don't poke if you don't want to be touched. Now come on, give me a memory.

Fine, what kind? Let go and I'll give you one!

[a beat, and he lets go]

Be yourself. So if what you want to show is how awful you think you are, or how hopeless you think everything is, then prove it. I wanna see it.

[Snatches his hand back and folds his arms.....time for a new memory which is.....rather different in tone from the others. As usual, his name is obscured.]

CONFUSION]

I what the hell. You hang with caterpillar buddies?

They're faeries. The children...the weak....the dying.... Ones that have been cast aside. Faeries all the same.

But. . .you like them, don't you? You seemed really different there. Not to mention--[gestures at his hair and wings. He'd noted how he dyes his hair, but didn't realize it was something he's been doing a While now.]

Well! That was fun! Your turn. Give me the worst of you.

Not yet! See? You're not just full of an endless void! It's like I said before--life is a blend of tons of spices. You can agree with that at least, right?

I don't have to agree with anything. It's your turn.

[disappointment but STILL DETERMINED]

Fine. I'll just buy a memory and go with whatever emotion it gives me. Nothing can be worse than last time.

A younger P, likely just having graduated high school, enters his home, calling out to this mother. His dad is away on business, per usual. He's a busy guy--a lawyer! And man is P ever so proud of him. There are a ton of feelings of wanting to be a good, upstanding citizen, having good morals, and doing all the right things, all because of his dad. He wonders when he'll be coming home.

He calls out to his mother again, hearing the television play as he approaches the common room. His mother sit there, staring at the screen. Slowly but surely, P realizes what has her fixated.

His father is on the news, having been caught acting as a lawyer for a child smuggling ring in China.

At the end of the broadcast, his mother faints.

So anyway, a pit of bitterness and betrayal there, what up.]
