HEARTFORGE - avante en garde (Session 4)

You are in the heart of a massive forge. In front of you are tools, and your objective is clear - to use them to channel the strength of your heart and create.

What are you creating? Who can say. Only you - and only you'll know if - and when, it's good enough. The stories before you are not yours right now, but you'll make them yours soon enough.

And you will survive.

[ The townsfolk outside tell a story - they ask for salvation, to be protected from the coming storm. Only you and your compatriots can save them. An item of offense is what they need, and the story they tell reflects the refuge they seek - you need only fill in that which is left unspoken. ]

Once upon a time, there was a {emotion1} warrior. Or maybe they were a leader, or weapon, or all of the above - it doesn't matter. All that matters is {emotion2}.

All they knew was that they had to fight against {memory/event1}. That they had to steel their heart against {emotion3}, and throw themself into the struggle.

It was for the sake of the others. It was for the sake of the others. It was for the sake of the others. That's all that matters. That's all that matters. That's all that matters.

That's how they lived. And how they died. For the sake of those who dragged them up onto the pedestal, and for the sake of those forced to hold that pedestal up. One night, those people {memory/event2}. And after that, {memory/event3}. And then it was over. Was it worth it?

You may also share additional memories/events or emotions independent of the story to bolster your object.

It seems to be a trial where we are to strengthen our bonds with one another.

I feel that 'able' may be too generous a term, as it does not seem we are able to turn it off.

Mmn. It's a game about protection, in a way.
I am not sure if the tale we are telling is about us alone, or if the story refers to a people who we must prepare to defend, but it does not change the nature of the duty.

Kinda wish it wasn't, given how our stories tend to end.
