[ For as long as the game is running, idols will only be able to access the rules on their phones. They may not text/call, nor may they take pictures.

Unit abilities are off. Items are off. Each idol can hold up to 3 items at a time maximum. ]

[ The room's stench is the first thing you notice upon waking up: it's an unpleasant mix of incense, smoke, and metal. Although the room is poorly lit, the light from the hanging wall lamps show that the room is quite big . . . and quite crowded.

Not with living people, of course. You find yourselves surrounded by corpses, mutilated beyond recognition. Vaguely humanoid shapes and limbs indicate these used to be humans—probably. . . ?

The metal smell is more easily identifiable as blood, now—though even if you could not make the connection, the floor is sticky with pools and rivers of red, so it's quite easy to tell that these—people?—met their end right here.

Yet, you won't find even a drop of blood on yourself, or even near your body. In fact, the carnage is absent on both your clothes as well as the ground immediately surrounding you, which is just as well because the blood would have otherwise obfuscated the white-chalked summoning circle that surrounds the idols.

You're situated in the center of the room.
Against the north wall is a table, where there are two oil lamps and a number of other things, though you'll have to get closer to really inspect them.
Against the east wall is a running fountain pool of sorts—the stench of blood is strongest here.
Against the south wall is a large portrait, though without coming closer, you can't make out who those people in the portrait are.
Against the west wall is a closed wooden door. ]

STARTING EVENT

It seems your arrival was not entirely without injury, however: Gwendolyn will find themself situated in the very center of the summoning circle, atop of various sharp implements—the murder weapons, perhaps?

While the idol can safely extricate themself for the most part, there's no avoiding the sharp blade that scrapes their shoulderblade. The injury itself is negligible, both in deepness of wound and depth of pain, for it's strangely rather numbing . . . for now.

As time progresses, the idol will begin to exhibit the following symptoms:

• Weakness/numbing of limbs
  
• Fever/chills
  
• Dizziness/mind fog
  
• Difficulty moving or staying awake, sluggishness

[ Aliza doubles over the instant they appear in here, eyes flaring a glowing red. Being surrounded by blood is not the best thing for her temperament, so she clamps a hand over her mouth to try and steady herself. ]

[ She starts shrinking back from the east wall, almost resting her back against the closed door before pausing and deciding that's possibly a bad idea. ]

I think so, I don't usually lose my head, it's just easier to react to things. Avoid sudden movements if you can. [ Even without her sword, she's plenty dangerous. ]

Mm, I'll manage. I don't think I'll be that much help looking around, but maybe if you narrate what you're seeing it'll help distract me and I can at least try and assist.

NORTH WALL

[ The table has two oil lamps, which you can pick up and carry with you. There are additionally a couple matches and an open book. . . .

The book is completely written in, from front to back, with a long list of names and pictures—presumably portraits belonging to the names—though the current page it's open to is unreadable now on account of the blood spilt all over it. At least you can read the page number: 201. ]

Good. I don't think I see any bandages [ if there were any they'd be covered in blood ] but my shirt has an outer layer I can rip up if she needs something to wrap it.

[ Everything is a double edged sword right now, holding something good, possibly dropping it because she's too busy screwing around with reacting to blood bad. ]

I think I may have been poisoned just now, though. I think I'm capable of keeping myself composed well enough that the dizziness and chills I'm starting to feel couldn't be from the surroundings.

. . . your unit?

Rather, not just the members of your unit—there are people in this portrait that you may not recognize, but everyone is wearing your unit's fashion, so you can safely assume they're all past members. It's a lovely painting, all things considered, but maybe this setting is not the most lovely place you could be seeing it in. ]
