You enter the Basement Landing.

There's not much here except … coal. Piles upon piles upon piles of coal, the floor caked in a thick coating of ash and soot. It's spectacularly filthy.

There are doors to the North, South, and West, and … a set of closed elevator doors? to the East.

[ AND NOW exploring the elevators! This time with blood dripping everywhere, as one does. She'll try to open the doors, poke buttons if there are any, etc. ]

The elevator door may be filthy and rusted, but it's positively futuristic compared to everything you've seen here so far. It even has a schmancy-pants fingerprint scanner! … If you can find it under the thick layer of grime.

The doors won't open no matter how much you pry at them.

[ Poking the scanner thing! She has no idea what it could do so is mostly randomly poking it. ]

[ she is going to use her technical brilliance to examine the panel. is it still covered in grime ]

It's pretty grimy, and now covered in blood.

[ well, she's going to start by trying to clean it off with a corner of her jacket or something. ]

Gross.

It'll take some elbow grease, but you do a decent job of cleaning it up!

Well, that's better...

[ she's also just going to try putting her finger on the pad now. does that do anything ]

[ She spins around in a huff and ends up pointed at the South door, so she skips over toward it, grinning once again. If there's anything interesting about it she looks at the interesting parts. If nothing of note she tries to open it. ]
