Flowers of Heaven 2: future is now + ☆ZRAEL
There’s a whirr and a series of quiet bleep-boops; an odd sound like stones grinding together.
Gathering around you all are strange creatures. Wheeling up to future is now are what seem to be friendly robots, almost like roombas, that have been given attachments of long, jointed arms with simple pincers at the ends, and hopping up to ☆ZRAEL are what look like a number of gargoyles, each no more than a few feet high and in the traditional gothic cathedral style—and all animate, their flesh made of living rock.
None of the creatures speak, exactly, but they chitter and nudge at you like they're greeting old friends, and usher you towards a gap that's opened in the thick curtain of kudzu vines and onto a winding path beyond.
Once you cross through, the vines grow rapidly to cover the open space behind you, and the voices of your fellow idols fade from your ears. It seems as if you’re on your own, now.
❀ ❀ ❀
Here, the vines that surround your path have thick, velvety leaves, and the stems of the vines are traced with shifting, fiber-optic lines that cycle through the rainbow.
The little creatures are carrying some things for you—the roombas carry a wreath of vervain, honeysuckle, and oak flowers and leaves, and the gargoyles a wreath of lotus, clematis, and wild rose. As they approach you, the air shifts in a strange way, and suddenly they have one wreath between them—all those flowers woven together into one, which they offer to you. They also have for you a collection of sixteen different flowers, and a small lantern of blue flame.

Re: DISCUSSION
At least no one can drop the crown on me again.
Re: DISCUSSION
Look at it this way--now he's one person more likely to end up wearing the crown.
Re: DISCUSSION
Are you okay? That looked awful.
Re: DISCUSSION
Honestly? It sucked!
[ Laughs awkwardly and rubs at her chest again. The phantom after-pains are not great. ]
But at least it's over, right?
[ Unless she gets hit again. And then she has to have a repeat. ]
Re: DISCUSSION
Yeah. It's over.
[ And Dia got hit too... ] Other than the pain, how do you feel?
Re: DISCUSSION
[ Which is kind of worrying. ]
I can't tell what that thing did to me.
[ It seems too much to hope for the answer to be "nothing." ]
Re: DISCUSSION
[ Sorry she's super distracted right now ]
I can't find the person who put the crown on me. I'm not going on without them.

Re: DISCUSSION
Re: DISCUSSION
...okay. I just -- I had to fight for them first, even if it was sort of meaningless.
Re: DISCUSSION
[ Reaching out and squeezing her hand reassuringly. ]
I'm sure they're going to be very happy when they find out. Okay?
Re: DISCUSSION
I guess so. [ sniffle ] Let's get out of here and then I'll keep looking once we get back.
Re: DISCUSSION
She squeezes her hand reassuringly again. ]
I'll help you look, okay?
[ Or she would, if she had any control of her urges to stay in one place once this is over. Oops. ]

Re: DISCUSSION
[ Someone protected her and then got hurt because of it, and she can't even remember who! Who cares about this game in the face of that. ]

Re: DISCUSSION
[ she's in this picture and she doesn't like it ]
...fair, I guess.
Don't suppose—well. Never mind. My advice isn't very good, on that topic.
Re: DISCUSSION
Losing people you care about is hard, even if it's temporary. ...I really hope it's temporary.
Re: DISCUSSION
Yeah, I hope so too.
