Mori's heart

All at once a rainbow of bright lights feels as if it is bursting through you. It is an intense experience, but not an unpleasant one. As the colours burn through your skin, and lighting begins to spark through your veins, you feel stronger, you could take on the world right now.

Faintly in the distance, beyond the iridescent light show that overwhelms your vision, you can just about make out some silhouettes, but they’re too blurred, too indistinct and too far to tell anything about them. You can’t see them, but you know they’re welcoming you. You’re wanted here, you’re needed here, and the light is guiding you where you’re meant to go.

... helplessness. Because there's probably a reason behind it?

He shifts uncomfortably.

"Is that what it is... But does having a reason behind it change that it's a cruel action?"

I think so.

Cruelty for no reason, just for the sake of it, isn't that what makes villains?

Standing up suddenly, his feet balanced precariously on the small ledge available to him on this side of the railing.

"Cruel actions are cruel actions no matter what reason you have. That's villainous, huh? That's what it is..."

[almost sucks in breath, watching him]

... no. That's not what I said.

He's still for the moment, looking down at the ground.

"You're making excuses, Duality."

["Duality"... he hasn't heard that from Mori in a while so it jars him a bit. he narrows his eyes, but his voice is quiet]

Yelling at you at Hunger Games, after what you went through. That was cruel. I wanted to make you feel bad for what you did, even if it was a for a moment. So it would make me villainous too, then.

"...No. That's a different feeling to what I am. You did that because you were scared for me."

"Cruel actions are cruel actions no matter what reason you have. That's villainous, huh?"

Now you're making excuses.

"Oh, is that how it is? You're turning my words against me like this, with that kind of weak comparison? Fine, you can be villainous too if you want."

At least then you're not alone in it.

Scoffs, "That's not a good reason to drag yourself down."

Of course it is.

"Why!? You want to be a hero, not a villain."

I want to be your friend more than being a hero, though. If that makes me a villain, I'll live with that.

That startles him, and he whips around to look at Todoroki properly, clinging to the railing and facing back out onto the rooftop towards him.

"How?! Don't - don't say stuff like that! Are you stupid? You can't just become a villain so easily!! You're a whole person, not just a facet, don't go making decisions like that at the drop of a hat!"

I just did, though? Besides, I wouldn't be much of a hero if I can't even be there for my friends.

Lowers his head, defeated.

"You're so dumb."

Probably. I'm fine with that.

"...Fine. Fine, think what you want, there's no point arguing with you."

[raises an eyebrow]

I usually think what I want.

"Yeah, I've noticed." He grumbles.

Sit down with me?

[on the roof, that is]

"...Fine."

Climbing back over the railing.

[sitting down, cross legged, waiting for him]
