Mori's heart

All at once a rainbow of bright lights feels as if it is bursting through you. It is an intense experience, but not an unpleasant one. As the colours burn through your skin, and lighting begins to spark through your veins, you feel stronger, you could take on the world right now.

Faintly in the distance, beyond the iridescent light show that overwhelms your vision, you can just about make out some silhouettes, but they’re too blurred, too indistinct and too far to tell anything about them. You can’t see them, but you know they’re welcoming you. You’re wanted here, you’re needed here, and the light is guiding you where you’re meant to go.

"Eh? What do you mean?" HSS Mori asks,

Middle school Mori shrugs. "This is just where we go."

Where you go. . .? Hm. I suppose everything has a place, for before and after. [claps his hands]

O-kay! In that case, I'll trust you both! Where do you think I should go? Where do I belong?

"Oh, definitely in here." HSS Mori jerks his thumb at the handcuff room, but the other one takes his time to answer, staring at C thoughtfully.

"I think you could go anywhere you wanted to be."

That IS a nice room. . .

[said playfully, but other Mori has his Attention. sliding over]

Anywhere? Even there?

[points to the door with an X]

Sliding closer startles him, he is a nervous little thing, but he nods.

"It... It would be alright, if you saw. I... I wouldn't, want you to stay in there, 'belonging' is an intense term and I don't want you to think a place like that is where you should stay, ah, that wouldn't be any good, but it's a place you'd be able to see, if it's you, it would be fine... w-wouldn't it?"

then hops over to the door]

Well, if Mori-chan says it's okay, then it's okay! Right Mori-chan?

I won't stay. If I did, who'd be your tutorial boss, hm?

[gonna try to open up that door]

It opens easily to you. Coming through this doorway feels like you’ve been doused in cold water. It's a small, stark stone chamber with torches dimly lit on the walls. The stone around them looks like they've been burned and charred with ash. Spider webs can be faintly seen in the corners, and there's a spray of an old bloodstain rusted so dark it almost looks black on a patch of the stone floor, next to a rifle propped up against the wall. A dented police badge lays shattered on the ground.

There are smudged chalk circles that look like they might once have been pentagrams dotted around the room, but they've been half-heartedly wiped off and left half-formed.

he almost moves to just, nope right back out but, the police badge catches his eye. he wanders over to pick it up, curious]

Surprise this is a room for INTENSE DISLIKE and when you pick up the badge you feel INTENSE DISLIKE. You feel betrayed, and then stupid for feeling betrayed, and then furious, you want to throw this stupid badge as far away as you can and never look at it again.

A thought strikes up in your mind. It's one thing for him to hurt you, but how dare he hurt them.

[sure does fucking drop it. mori disliking something or getting angry isn't new, but it still feels weird knowing he can feel so intensely negative about a sore point.

making his way back out but, stopping at the pentagrams. wh..y why u got pentagrams here Mori. experimentally taps at it]

There's a brief flash of anger, so quick you can barely register it before it's gone. All touching these half-formed pentagrams does is fill you with guilt.

[NEAT]

[HOPPING OUT THE ROOM]

Hey so maybe you should try doing some spring cleaning in there, buuuut otherwise, yep, you're right, not the place for me!

HSS Mori immediately comes over to drape like maybe he can fill you with good feelings to counterract the gross feelings of that room!!

It doesn't quite work, he can't fill you with feelings like those objects, but. He just loves you okay. "CB-kun definitely doesn't belong in there!"

The little one looks down, folding his arms, tense. "It's a difficult room to clean... Um, it's not a place for you, but, I didn't think it would be bad to show it to you... You, you don't have to, if you don't want..."

[A-ok hanging off him, still better than being filled with negativity. He tilts his head other Mori, thoughtful]

No, I'm glad I saw it, it was just a biiiit. Unexpected. But, there's not nearly as much in there as there could be, right? So that's good.

But, since it's there, it's part of you, right? No matter what.

Some of the tension eases out of him, shoulders relaxing, but he's still all nervous. "It, um, i-it is, yeah..."

[hmmm

snaps his fingers. pulling out his bandanas. tying one around HSS Mori's arm, then looking to little mori. C'MERE U]

It's fine, right? Neeheehee, I think you guys must be doing a good job keeping things organized!

So you get the C seal of approval! Don't second guess yourself, get over here.

Are you putting the bandanas from the costume room on them okay then. HSS Mori looks excited, "Oh! Thanks CB-kun!" and grins happily at his new bandana.

Little Mori looks ALARMED, but, takes a step forwards. "U-Um... Okay."

[well yes BUT THOSE SHOULD BE FINE, NO MIND CONTROL, probably?? its f i n e]

[beams at the compliance, and ties it around little mori's arm too]

There you go! I like Mori-chan--[nods to HSS]--but you're him too, even if you're not the same, one I don't really know. So, thanks for trusting me enough to let me see something a little different.

It's probably fine! HSS Mori looks happy and middle school Mori reaches up to rub the fabric between his fingers, cheeks turning slightly pink.

"I, um... I-I worry a lot, but... we're, both the ones that care about you. I... I want, to be able to trust you, so..."

HSS Mori cuts in here, smiling. "It's okay. We can definitely trust you."

[a slight raised eyebrow, and he snickers]

Aaah, so that's how it is.

Neeheehee, it's okay if you don't trust me completely. I wouldn't. So long as we can still have fun together, right?

The little one surges forward suddenly, looking panicked, "That's not what I meant! I didn't say that - that I don't trust you, I just don't... I don't..."

He shrinks back, upset. "I don't want you to think less of me..."

[C blinks wide eyed at that, more than surprised

Then he just, laughs]

Mori-chan, wanna see a trick?

"...What kind of trick?"

A relevant one! [He pokes his chest]

Mori. . .[snaps his fingers

Did u want to be shrank together]

Neeheehee, I totally stole this joke.

"...Gah! CB-kun!!!" Tiny Mori panics while HSS Mori laughs.
