[When your eyes finally adjust to your surroundings, you find yourself standing next to a road paved in stones, and surrounded by nature. The air is clean but chilly, the sun is bright and shining down on you... but it still doesn’t feel warm. This seems to be an extremely cold Winter day.
If you weren't wearing them before, you find yourself wearing gloves and boots!]
[He's wearing the same clothes he was wearing back at the library! He has no weapon, and no bag.
There's no one around! In fact, the only sounds you can hear are those of the birds and the rustling of leaves. Left from where you're standing, the road leads uphill. You can't tell where it leads in the other direction because the road takes a turn left not too far away from here, and the trees block your sight.]
[He'll have to walk far to do that, but the sights will be even more beautiful in that direction. If it wasn't for the road, it would seem that as if this place is untouched by civilization. It's also getting chillier.
The road leads to a river, crosses it, and then takes a sharp turn to the right. At this point, if you look down, you still can't see much. The forest still blocks your sight. But if you look up, you can see big, icy mountains blocking the horizon, and... Is that a cave?]
[Uwaaaaa enjoying the scenery for a moment. He's actually never seen a mountain like this before, all snow-covered and rocky. It looks like a picture from a book, but here it is in real life, and bigger than he could have ever imagined!
Please hold. He has to commit this to his memory.
After a good long oogle, he thinks it would be a waste to not explore a mountain when he has the opportunity. Let's go see what a cave is like!]
[You walk! And walk! as you follow the river upstream until you finally reach the entrance to the cave. The higher you go, the colder it gets. This is no longer just chilly-- soon you can see your own breathing. I hope your clothes were always warm enough for this!
(Please ignore the characters you see in the picture). Anyway, it’s not too hard to realize that the cave itself seems to be the source of the cold.
[Nobody left a lantern! But since he's looking for something, he may be able to notice how one particular stalk of grass is glowing in a light blue color.]
[Oh wow, that's cool. He's going to inspect this grass for a moment, and if it doesn't seem like it's attached to any other glowing structures... maybe...he will... pick it? Is it still glowing once plucked?]
[It doesn't feel attached to anything! But once Cobalt plucks it, a flash of light seems to come out of it, and Cobalt finds himself watching the following scene unfold:
“Wait, Eugeo…What are we going to do about light?” a black-haired young man asks, and Sol says he has it under control. He lifts up a stalk of grass, and chants:
“System Call! Lit Small Rod!”
The tip of the stalk of grass in Sol’s hand starts to glow. Once he is done, it has enough pale bluish light to illuminate a few yards ahead. He heads farther into the cave.
The black-haired man races to catch up alongside him. “Eu-Eugeo…what was that?”
Sol squints at him sternly, but there's a hint of pride tugging at his mouth. “A sacred art—a very easy one. I had to practice it a whole lot two years ago when I decided to come and get the Blue Rose Sword.”
“Sacred art…But…do you know the meaning of those words? Like system and rod…”
“Meaning? There’s no meaning; they’re just spellwords. They’re words you say to beseech God and receive a miraculous blessing..."
They disappear inside the cave, and their words fade.
There is another flash of light, and Cobalt finds himself standing where he is again. He still has the grass in his hand, but it's no longer glowing.]
Imagination: You focused too much on the words and too little on the image of the light while saying that, but it still works! There is now a faint glow coming from this stalk of grass, similar to Sol's in that scene, maybe a little weaker... But hey, it's better than nothing.
This may not be as bright as Sol's, but probably not too bad for a first try...?
Alright, let's go spelunking! Cobalt approaches the cave. It's very dark, and his grass stalk does not seem to be illuminating as much as he'd be comfortable with. For every step deeper he goes, the darker it gets, and the louder every single one of Cobalt's instincts start screaming at him about the perils of dark places.
It starts getting a little too loud to ignore.
He's barely left the range of the ambient light outside before his footsteps begin to falter, and then stop.
...you know, on second thought, maybe a second glowing grass?
He returns to the mouth of the cave and plucks another stalk. Now that he knows the magic words work, and he has a very powerful desire for light, he's going to try the System Call again on the second stem.]
Imagination: Your desire for light is acknowledged, but this is not a generous world! Nothing happens. This stalk of grass doesn't know what light is.
However... it seems like the other stalk of grass is glowing brighter now... While you were busy trying to get the other one to light up, the original one has responded to your prayers! Praise Solus, the Goddess of Light!
There are no more flowers here. One of your gloves has also disappeared.

He's going to take a moment to take in his situation.
First of all, what is he wearing? Are these his normal clothes from Imeeji? Is he carrying anything like a weapon or a bag?
Second of all, he checks out the surroundings, looking up and down the road. Where does it lead? Are there people around? Etc.]

It is also completely dark.]

He is not, however, tolerant of the dark. At All. This... could be... a dealbreaker.

wow!
That was Sol, wasn't it? "Eugeo"? Is that his real name? He's making a mental note of that.
He's also making a mental note to be on a close lookout for other things that may be faintly glowing.
Alright, okay, what was it Sol said? He stares at the grass.]
System call, lit small rod...!

Half the flowers in the vicinity disappear.
