HEART GAME: REQUIEM (run 2)

You awaken in the ☆ZRAEL dorm common room. It’s dark. Darker than usual, and the reason why is immediately apparent: the lamps are all extinguished, the stars have disappeared, and the moon has shifted to new. The ocean below the glass panes of the floor is silent and still. Everything feels cold and unmoving, not unlike a painting.

Oh.

She's tense for a moment, before wrapping her arms around her. Carefully, though.

[Nemesis is not careful in the least, holding tight as if she could disappear at any moment]

... oh.

After a moment she squeezes tighter, shoulders hunched, burying her face in your shirt. Her breath hitches, a little.

O-okay. It's okay. We'll be okay.

[Her voice is a little muffled and scratchy herself, but that doesn't mean she means them any less. She doesn't loosen her hold any]

Her breath shudders, but she doesn't respond-- can't respond-- too occupied by just holding you.

Your pocket feels a little heavier than before.

[At some point she'll feel the need to check inventory but perhaps not at the moment. For now she'll just hold on until the need feels less desperate.]

Whoops forgot to mention this Requiem seems a little younger than usual. Maybe 16ish, her hair no longer than her shoulders.

Eventually she loosens her grip just a little, her voice thick but mostly under control. "... you were looking for me?"

Wasn't the only one, but. Yeah, I been looking.

You wanna go see what they want?

She pulls back enough to let you go, but takes your hand again, firmly, if a little trembling.

"... alright."

[Squeezes her hand tight]

Don't worry. I'm here with you, okay? You don't gotta do it all alone.

She nods-- but won't move until you do, only a little tense.

Nemesis and Hurricane have been watching this with anxious expressions, from where they were told to wait, but remained quiet.

[She'll lead her back towards the house and the others, then. Not rushing, but not slow enough for second thoughts. She gives Nemesis and Hurricane a smile as they approach, but lets the various Requiems do the talking]

She follows alongside, a bit nervously. And it seems to take the others a moment to understand what's going on, but--

Nemesis comes over first-- hesitates-- and curls her arms around the True Heart's back, burying her face against her. Hurricane's a bit slower to join, but eventually does, leaning in next to Nemesis. And the True Heart freezes up for a moment, before letting go of your hand, to hug the both of them and mutter, "... sorry..."

They talk, and it's nothing you can really focus on. But things feel more comfortable in the area, if only a little.

[That's something?

Nemesis takes a subtle step back, present but not trying to get into all their private business. However, she does notice the extra weight in her pocket now, and finally reaches in to see what it might be]

It's a key.

[Huh... There any keyholes around? For example, the front door of the house? She definitely doesn't want to interrupt hugging it out, so maybe she'll check it out herself in the meantime?]

The key unlocks the front door easily, with a soft click.

Opening the door shows the ZRAEL dorm again-- lit and colorful and warm and comfortable, like normal.

[Okay. Well... She returns to the others, seeing how they're doing]

Hey guys, everything good, getting back caught up?

The True Heart looks back up at you-- expression soft. Unsurprisingly, Nemesis is wearing a matching expression, though she looks a tiny bit more embarrassed about it.

"Yeah," Req says. "... yeah, it's good. We're good."

[Smiles back at them, expression probably not too different from her doppelganger--maybe a little more self-conscious, seeing it third-person]

Good.

...Did you guys wanna come in or are you staying here?

"... can I?" the True Heart says, cautiously, but she slowly separates from the other two so she can approach you (though they tag along close behind her).

It's your place, don't ask me. Do what you want.

[Takes her hand though]

She takes your hand, immediately, but... pauses at the doorway, staring in.

And it takes a moment before she can bring herself to enter entirely-- and such relief washes over her that her breath shudders and her eyes tear up again, her hand squeezing yours tightly.

[Looks over at her. And also the room, but mostly at her]

Yeah she's definitely crying.
