Castle Game: avante en garde

[Suddenly, you hear the wailing of a horn. Outside, tension is turning to panic. You can't see anything, but you can hear people gathering up their things, sobbing in fear or speaking in harsh whispers. A lone voice calls from the distance:

The enemy approaches!

Upon the map, an unfamiliar geography appears -- several small nations, clustered together. Outside of them, an endless sea of enemy forces, identified only by a symbol of a cracked skull. Each of the small nations is marked with a flag in one unit's colour, and a tiny model of a castle.

You are at war. How will you protect your people and yourself?

I dunno how many other people would be willing to gift us their goods, though. Maybe Silver... but it seems way too out there t'think no one would try t'steal from us all three rounds.

I have not considered how other units will behave in defense of their keeps. Truthfully, I don't understand any of them, so for me to attempt to predict their behavior without first witnessing their approaches would be meaningless. But, if proceeding without guessing at their plans feels too reckless for others, perhaps Commodore or Shrike-kun may have better insight?

Honestly, there's way too many factors to really make an accurate prediction, even for our vets.

I'm fine with whatever, as long as we stay above a three. Even if we eat shit this round, we still might manage that.
