Pokemon: The Shopping District

Once you've left behind the quaint little houses where everyone lives, you'll reach the shopping district. Here you'll find all kinds of restaurants and whether it's a cute cafe with desserts and drinks or a fancy place with four-star, four course menus both people and Pokemon are welcome. There are also a number of salon, costume, and toy shops catering solely to Pokemon so you can dress and pamper your partner properly. You can also procure raw items and tools to build and decorate those homes for your Pokemon from a number of the shops in the area.

[ herding is EXHAUSTING, as one would probably reasonably expect, so d.va has brought gible to one of the many restaurants to rest and recharge. she's got her head on the table and he's munching on some poffins or berries or his napkin. whatever's in sight, really. ]

[After managing to get to the shopping district with her devilish playful Drampa in tow... or towing her, Cherry figured it would be a good idea to make him look more fashionable. However, he didn't seem to want to get with the faux!punk program and match outfits!.

In fact, he seems more interested in the food places surrounding the store than anything else. It didn't help that she was struggling to find something in his size.]

Listen mister, we'll eat once we've gotten this task completed. You need to learn some patience. Now lean down here and- hey!

[She's going to have to pay for that hat he's chewing.]

[walking along with a little green deerling by his side]

Oh... looks like there's a lot of cool stuff around here. Food, toys... anything catch your eye?

[puzzlers]

[ since goomy is a bit on the, ah, slower side yugi has picked her up and set her on his shoulder. she seems content to ride there, though he's now got slime coating his right side. ]

We could check out the shops. [ points to the costume shop and then the toy shop. ] Maybe make them both look more pep.

[puzzlers]

[ he heads towards the small shopping strip and peers in the windows as he walks along. stops in front of the costume shop and seems a bit hesitant, since he's not sure how to dress a slug, but he'll figure it out. ]

[ pushes in the door and, oh, wow. that's a lot of stuff! ] I wonder if I can find her a cute little sailor hat. It seems like they have a little bit of everything here.

Oh wow, they really have a lot of stuff in here.

I'm sure we can find something. It looks like this was all made with these guys in mind.

[starts picking through racks to see what he can find]

[puzzlers]

[ he's careful not to let goomy goo anything up. ]

... Cobalt, look. [ he holds it up and chuckles. ] I'm not really sure Goomy could wear this, but it's actually really cute.

Oh. My goodness.

Goomy may not be able to, but, um.

[he takes another one off the rack and looks at deerling]

[deerling looks back at him]

Not a fan? [ to the deer. ] A sailor collar on its own might work!

[ looks back to goomy. ] I might be able to use the hat. Goomy really doesn't... have a body... [ so clothes are definitely going to be difficult. ]

Ah, good call. We can take it all apart.

Do we have to, uh, buy these? Do they take points?

[puzzlers]

[ he opens his mouth and then closes it, because he's not really sure. ]

I, ah, don't know... [ looks around to see if there's anybody else in the shop with him he can ask. ] It's not something we have to pick up at the dropbox, so I'm assuming it's... free...

The game didn't seem to give us any currency to use, and I don't... see any price tags on anything...

[puzzlers]

It must be alright then... [ going to look for some sort of a cash register??? ] I don't see anything. [ removes the hat and sets it on goomy's head. ]

It's not like we don't have the points and we can always apologize for the confusion if, ah, we do something wrong...

[oh no Goomy is even cuter now]

Nothing left to do but see if we get arrested for costume crimes, I guess.

[He starts working the sailor collar off the pokemon costume, then puts it on deerling like a tiny cape.]

Huh. Looks a lot better on you than me.

[puzzlers]

[ goomy trills her name and once yugi sets her down she spins in a circle. ]

You like that? [ he crouches down alongside her and smiles. ] Well you look really good. Both of you do. [ he turns to look at deerling. ]

I think I'm a little jealous. [ covers a small laugh. ] Did you want to get a picture? [ to cobalt. ]

Like a selfie, or ...?

Let's absolutely take a selfie, but I can also get a shot of you and Deerling and then maybe you can get one of me and Goomy!

[ Oh my. ]

He's really hungry, isn't he? ... Here.

[ she'll bring out a berry she picked earlier in one of the meadows. ]

This is probably tastier than that hat, don't you think?

Okay, I guess we're looking for like a department store or something?

looking everywhere and GAWKING. ]

Is this what a modern city's shopping district is like?!

Hey! Blaze!

[ Charmander (Blaze) has suddenly wiggled free and scampered over to a food stand selling custard-filled-taiyaki and is running in excited circles, periodically stopping to point at the food with an enthusiastic Chaa! Char! ]

[looking down at Deerling]

Uh. Let's see if I can, uh.

[with some uncertainty, he reaches down and tries to pick it up like it's a cat. Deerling wiggles a little and makes a small noise, but Cobalt tucks up its miles of legs and hugs it to his chest. It chills out.]



Okay. Ready.

[puzzlers]

[ goomy trills, as if counting down, and yugi just shakes his head, counting down himself and then snapping a picture of cobalt and deerling. ]

Got it! [ but before they move he'll come over and show him just so he can see how cute they look! ] It came out really nice!

Man... guess he likes what he sees.

[A beat.]

Not gonna lie, they smell pretty awesome.

[Wandering over, too, the bird tucked in the crook of his elbow.]
