[ The water begins to bubble, rising up and up in the bowl like a fountain, until it spills out of the bowl in waves, soaking into the dirt and around them. Still, though it overflows, the bowl seems no less empty than before - and the water climbs up and up and up, until the fountain becomes the gentle waterfall of a small stream no bigger than the circumference of the bowl. Through the waterfall, you can see -

Like a broken tail light, flickering and inconsistent in its brightness, a lump of faulty lighting takes center stage of the waterfall, by and large covered up by the tattered, human-like skinsuit you could recognize as Mehniel, though their outer layer is torn enough that you can see bits of feather and fur poking out, and on the floor around them are abandoned bits of feather and hair too, dim light now that they've been torn out. Behind them you can catch the vague shape of something, though you'll largely see the lights illuminating it from underneath a bevelled stone indent in the ground. Currently, the lights are a dull, constant red. If you squint you can see a glimpse of the wall behind; on it are hieroglyphs, unreadable to you. ]

You've seen it a thousand times. A hundred thousand times, a million times, over and over again - in the back of your eyelids, in your nightmares, you've seen it, but it's here again.

The empty void, the world beyond the looking glass, here - once more, you've been trapped. Once more, you're here again.

But beyond the glass, beyond the mirror, isn't just the kitchen from the House of Mirth - all around you are mirrors lined up in various different places in Tokyo-F. All around you are those familiar faces, your friends and unitmates - they go on about their day as though they don't see you at all.

Maybe they just don't know, you think - but you catch the conversation between Nemesis and Requiem as they pass through a shop's window on their way to the amusement park.

"Think we should go get him?"

"Y'think so?"

"Nah. I mean, it's more trouble than it's worth. Don't wanna go get skronked up for a guy like him again."

Nemesis gives an amicable shrug, seeming not to mind.

"He can handle himself. I mean, if he's gonna be like that, he should handle himself. I'm sick of watchin' out for him."

"Pffft, yeah, right? A girl can only take so much! Alright, which ride first?"

Their voices fade, and then grow stronger as they pass by another reflective surface - and you're privy to watching them have a fun amusement park date. Through the entire time, their eyes never land to any of the surfaces - never to you. As though they know exactly where you are - as though you were made invisible. ]

[ - and as though not even a second has passed, Lilith draws away with a soft chuckle, and Hurricane will find his wounds disappearing to leave behind raw sores. His chest will feel heavy, a weight hanging down at his heart, and he can hear it: his heart slows down, until the very last beat is choked out of it. Several parts of his body burn in exchange, scars forming in familiar places - every attempt at erasing his own life, permanently marked on his body now.

He'll wake up sometime during the wee hours of day 146 in his room. ]
