[ The water begins to bubble, rising up and up in the bowl like a fountain, until it spills out of the bowl in waves, soaking into the dirt and around them. Still, though it overflows, the bowl seems no less empty than before - and the water climbs up and up and up, until the fountain becomes the gentle waterfall of a small stream no bigger than the circumference of the bowl. Through the waterfall, you can see -

Like a broken tail light, flickering and inconsistent in its brightness, a lump of faulty lighting takes center stage of the waterfall, by and large covered up by the tattered, human-like skinsuit you could recognize as Mehniel, though their outer layer is torn enough that you can see bits of feather and fur poking out, and on the floor around them are abandoned bits of feather and hair too, dim light now that they've been torn out. Behind them you can catch the vague shape of something, though you'll largely see the lights illuminating it from underneath a bevelled stone indent in the ground. Currently, the lights are a dull, constant red. If you squint you can see a glimpse of the wall behind; on it are hieroglyphs, unreadable to you. ]

[ it’s hard to know exactly what is going on, because not having a head takes away four of the five senses, but he instinctively tightens his grip on king. ]

None of them remotely have a handle on anything. ]

The good(?) news is Yugi probably jostles the Avante swords enough in the process that they finally de-materialize, which earns a harsh hiss from him when it happens.

But at least now he's not full of swords anymore! ]

[ good news? g- good news. ]

[ he can feel the intake of breath, which startled him. what happened? what did he do? is king okay? he panics, the dizzying sensation only growing worse as he shudders, wings twitching as a result and the remaining burnt flecks of feathers falling off. ]

[ after talking with intensity, the woman will approach both King and Yugi; she reaches to touch Yugi's neck stump, which may be particularly alarming - especially with how Yugi's head starts to grow back - but King won't have much time to think on that. After all - she's reaching to touch her bare hand against his face next, in between his eyes - ]

[ You're bound by chains, forced on your knees and helpless to watch. They've caught you now - your efforts of resistance and your foolishness have been caught, finally intolerable. That's it, they decide - they'll just have to start with a fresh new batch.

But what to do with you all? Well, to those alive - they should just kill them, shouldn't they? Reuse the parts for something more worthwhile, maybe sell them in the points shop for the next group. So you watch as they start to systematically dismember . . . everyone.

This one, though - what to do with him? He's already dead, after all.

Well, there's no choice but to bury him, is there?

You can hear Yugi screaming - calling your name - while they drag him away, but it's not because of his own fate that he screams. It's yours - as the chains pull you back, reeling you into a sarcophagus. There's too much carnage for you to focus on - you can see Hiryuu's bright red hair somewhere on the ground, the bloody coat that once was Intensity's, Hurricane's robot leg dropped in the discard pile with every unusable limb, the look of despair Eclipse gives you from his place in line on the chopping block; you can hear D.Va's screaming and Mars' swearing, hear the sound of the blade as it comes down to cut Maki's head off, but.

Still, still - still, in all the chaos, your ears and eyes focus on Yugi the most as he's pinned down - even as your coffin is pulled back into a pit, even as it begins to sink, you can see demons and angels alike preparing their blades to start breaking him down into parts. Even when you've been completely bound from head to toe, held down and unable to see anything anymore but the cloudy sky and the occasional dirt that falls into your grave, you can still hear him - how his voice cracks and grows hoarse, calling for you, begging for you -

Then, the lid shuts.

In the darkness, you can hear the last of his muffled screams - and then all is silent. ]

[ - and as though not even a second has passed, the woman rises up with a bounce to her dress, drawing her hand away and shaking it as though she's just touched something dirty. his wounds seal together, uncomfortably raw but without injury for the most part.

King is left looking largely hale and healthy, but it's hard to look at him - quite literally, if one were to look at him from the periphery it seems as though he's made of a blinding, heavenly gold; even when he bleeds, it seems as though light is spilling with the red.

He'll wake up sometime during the wee hours of day 146 in his room. ]
