[ The room is BRIGHT YELLOW, as all the rooms you will enter are. Black tiles make up the floor, changing to your unit's color when pressure is placed on them. There is a button in the very center of the room standing on a podium; it's slightly smaller than palm-sized.]

[ there's a soft surprised sound that immediately goes higher in pitch as her voice shrinks with her ]

My apologies.
But I could not be certain who I would face, or how quickly they would act.

[ Even at this size, she's making her way towards the podium, albeit cautiously, attempting to evaluate her chances of climbing it. ]

I am Amaranth, of LiliS, and I think it likely that most of my unitmates will simply concede.

[L Sighs, she can't see that Amaranth is moving, so she simply sits down and crosses her legs]

That is completely understandable and reasonable but I'm still annoyed. Being blinded is quite alarming, you see. I'm L of AlcheME, nice to meet you Amaranth.

[Her tone is irritated but that's not actually sarcasm.]

I only really know Camellia and John on your team, and not well. Oh, but I did meet one of your new girls recently. Tell me about the rest of them?

[ still moving at her... idk how small is small? housecat? mouse? ...well, whatever pace she's got, because Mela's tits is climbing this thing going to be a pain if it's her only option— ]

But the youth you met was most likely Azalea. She has silvery hair and eyes the color of twilight. [ people from Creation just talk like this, ]
She is strong-willed, but untested. Still, she is the only other true fighter among us, at least in spirit. I do not know if she has been forced into this or not.

Then there is Heliotrope, who doubts himself but has a voice fairer than a Lark's, and cannot abide seeing children hurt.

John and Camellia are true pacifists. Both will lay down their lives without hesitation, and are loathe to speak of their own suffering.

Ah, that's right, that was a while ago. I can hear your voice getting further away, by the by. It almost seems like you're not interested in talking at all.

I didn't know Azalea was a fighter. Good for her, she seems like a sweet girl. I hope she doesn't have to go through this. You sound quite certain none of the others will fight for themselves.

[ caught; the sudden self-consciousness holds her in place where nothing else could ]

[ turning back to face L properly—or at least let her voice face her properly, as the case may be ]

I am sorry, L. My desperation has made me dishonorable. I feel as though if I relent, even in the slightest, it is as good as saying that the torture of my unit is something I didn't care about enough to stop.

But AlcheME are kind-hearted too.

I don't think it's dishonourable to do everything you can to protect your loved ones. It's rude, sure, I would've liked to have been given a chance to negotiate first. But I do get it.

Reducing it down to a numbers game is in bad taste, but the fact remains that there are more people on my team who'd be willing to keep fighting than there are on yours. I'd rather give us our best shot, I don't want to let anyone on AlcheME get tortured either you know. Even so I'm sure Q would be upset if Camellia was left undefended.

So, with all that in mind, do you have anything you want to ask me?

Oh, don't get me wrong, I absolutely want to avoid a horrible painful death for me and my team as much as you do. But I've done this whole 'fight to the death' thing before, and honestly? Can't say I'm a fan.

I rather think asking me what I'd like to do is respecting my rights a lot more than blinding me and running before even giving me a chance. So? What will it be?

[ there's a long moment's pause

and then L's vision returns. tiny!Amaranth is standing about a foot from the podium. ]

...What would you like to do then, L?

Oh!

[Blinks a couple of times, her vision readjusting to the light, before standing up wtih a smile]

Phew, that's so much better, thanks.

[Grows Amaranth back to her usual size with a lazy flick of the wrist]

What I'd like, huh? I would have much preferred to settle this this over a game of rock-paper-scissors, if I had the choice. But that doesn't seem your style. Would you really leave something like this up to chance if I asked?

[ being grown is honestly even more disconcerting than being shrunk, but at least she's back to normal ]

....It wouldn't feel right to me to leave it to chance like that—not if I felt I could truly keep them safe, if I gave everything I had to this.

Well, as I said, I'm not interested in a desperate fight to the death.

[ she worries her lower lip a moment ]

.....We could perhaps go to first blood, instead?

Amaranth. I don’t want to fight.

[ but that's her only plan?????? ]

....Ah.

I’m sure that would be the exciting thing to do, but I’m afraid I’ll have to disappoint the fans. Sorry everyone! The final girl isn’t surviving the sequel.

But that’s okay. I’m sure you’ll give them a much more interesting show, Amaranth.

[ she considers L for a long moment, then at last bows her head with a sort of sigh ]

You are a brave and principled young woman. I am sorry that I had not taken the time to get to know you better, before now.

If you truly intend to concede here, is there something I might do for AlcheME later, after all this is done? Something that might bring all of you comfort.

[At first she's going to brush it off, she was going to joke and give Amaranth an easy out, but.

There is something that's been stressing her brothers out a lot, hasn't there.]

[ tilting her head ]
