Heart Game: Talon
Was it this late when you stepped into the Game Tower...? Now the sky above is dotted with a few scarce stars, occasionally obscured by some light cloud cover drifting by. Most of the night sky has been washed out by the bright lights of the city which, by the way, is spread out far below the rooftop that characters find themselves on. There's a faint buzz on their phones. When checked, the screen shows a Game Notice:
Win Condition:
1. Locate the True Heart
Or
2. Leave a Lasting Mark
The skyscraper towers high above the streets, easily dwarfing any other building in sight. The city is some dozens of stories below, and the sound of the wind rushing by is louder than anything that can be heard from the streets. Occasionally the wail of a siren pierces the distance, but it's easier to spot the lights of an ambulance or police car zipping through the roads than it is to hear them. If you look closely enough, and for long enough, you might notice figures in the distance leaping between buildings, sometimes in pursuit of a siren or with an emergency vehicle trailing in the distance behind them.
The roof itself is expansive—the building must take up the better part of a city block, judging by the space available up here. A helipad (sans any helicopter) takes up the entirety of one side of the roof, complete with what looks like a freight elevator for moving things from the roof further into the building. The elevator itself has a keypad lock on it, but a staircase entrance beside it has no obvious lock in place.
The rest of the rooftop is empty save for a small, hooded figure perched atop one of the parapets along the edge of the roof, feet dangling over open air.
[ OOC NOTES:
1. Powers are on. THIS INCLUDES CANON POWER SETS.
2. Characters may keep any equipment they had on them when entering the heart, but there is a risk it will be taken away during the run. However all equipment taken will be returned when you exit the heart.
3. Significant changes/damage to the heart will reset each time someone new enters an area for the first time. For example, if Bob kills the sentry at the entrance of the heart, the sentry will respawn for Sally when she arrives. This way everyone can experience the different areas.
4. CAVEAT TO THE ABOVE: exceptions made for anyone specifically going through the heart with a partner(s), or anyone who requests to react to damage that's been done. The goal here is to allow everyone to have fun in the heart at the end of the day. ♥ ]

Re: CW: BODY HORROR
Past the dinner table, the tunnel continues. It appears to be the only other exit, having been the route Batman took Robin through. ]
Re: CW: BODY HORROR
Re: CW: BODY HORROR
Finally, there's a faint breeze. A few dozen more yards, and the exit comes into view, and standing there...is Talon(?).
He looks from the boy over Griffin's shoulder to the dead weight of Joker's corpse and clenches his jaw so tightly that it pops. Around him, the colors seem to fade and muddy; the terrain becomes less...fixed. It's the entrance to a cave, right? Or maybe it's leading into a bedroom? A corporate office...? The ocean??? ]
What. Did. You. Do.
Re: CW: BODY HORROR
I'll admit that didn't really go smoothly at the start, but...
I'm a devil hunter. I kill demons.
Re: CW: BODY HORROR
Re: CW: BODY HORROR
Ah... I fucked it up again, didn't I.
Re: CW: BODY HORROR
[ He clicks his tongue in disgust and stalks past him to crouch down by Red Robin, laying a hand on the older boy. He can heal his injuries, but the issue of the laughing gas and how hysterical with grief he is... That's more difficult to address when he doesn't have any idea what the context for this kid is supposed to be!
And then there's the Joker's corpse... Who even is this?? ]
As if I did not have enough issues surrounding Drake as it is.
Re: CW: BODY HORROR
[He takes one last look at Red Hood's helmet, his own face reflected in dirtied, metallic red. Lets out another sigh.]
...Is Jason okay?
Re: CW: BODY HORROR
[ His eyes flick down to the helmet, and he clenches his teeth again and reaches out to snatch it away from Griffin. ]
He is troubled. And lying badly about it, as he so often does.
Re: CW: BODY HORROR
[He was trying, and still managed to fuck it up! COOL!]
Re: CW: BODY HORROR
[ He gestures vehemently at Joker's corpse with Hood's helmet ]
Your good intent does not change the fact that I no longer have any idea who that is! You cannot focus on only the facets of a situation that you care about! The rest of the world matters whether you like it or not!
Re: CW: BODY HORROR
I'm sorry my 'good intentions' fucked up, but-- whatever person you wish I was, I can't be that. I've never been anything but what I am.
Re: CW: BODY HORROR
Talon does not expect you to be like him. He doesn't even believe he is anything like he actually is, but he believes that you can try harder than you are now. He trusts you with Jason, you realize.
Re: CW: BODY HORROR
He's... Jason's not really...
I mean, he doesn't want...
[ :( ]
Re: CW: BODY HORROR
Well, this might as well happen. ]
You are both the same sort of idiot... You do recall that he once believed he didn't want a little brother, right?
Re: CW: BODY HORROR
That still doesn't mean he's ready t'think about a... a boyfriend now.
Re: CW: BODY HORROR
[ The True Heart tucks the helmet under one arm and approaches the cave entrance which, finally, settles back into being a cave entrance again. He lays a hand on the opening, and it glows brightly for a moment but otherwise seems unchanged. ]
In any case, it is time for you to leave. I need to clean up this mess.
Re: CW: BODY HORROR
...I'll make up for this somehow. I don't know how, but I will.
[And then he passes through the cave entrance, and is gone.]
