Your sleep is restless, and it's hard to settle as your eyelids refusing to stop twitching, and you can feel an itch at the back of your mind, flashes of uncomfortable thoughts dipping in and out of your dreams, constantly interrupting your tries to relax. ... Are you even asleep?

Apparently you were, because you wake up with a start, cheek pressed uncomfortably to steel flooring and flickering lights overhead. Unfortunately, you don't feel very rested at all.

[with that she's going to maintain her defenses and create a large dome of hard light above Duality and bring it down on him if she can to trap him and turn his display of power against him]

[his eyes widen as the lack of oxygen snuff his fire out entirely. his right side still ices over, though]

[and with that she begins to shrink the hard light dome while maintaining its integrity so it starts to press in on him and his ice]

[He tries to expand his ice instead, to break the dome, attempting to summon a minor mountain.]

[she tries to keep willing the dome stronger but a mountain of ice is still too much after awhile and the dome shatters to give way to the mountain]

Ugh! Okay, um...

[she quickly reformats the fractured pieces of the dome into chains and shackles that whip up from the ground to try and bind him again this time aiming to pull him off his new ice peak and pin him to the floor]

[OH SHIT she is not strong so she will be pulled a good bit closer before she can think to dissolve the chains

she does however have the wherewithal to pull the energy discs she'd made previously in to melt and coat her head to toe as a force field/armor]

Ow-ow-ow-ow!!

[even with the added protection the fire still creates a lot of painful intense heat/probably causes some burns, she knows she has to act quick before her focus breaks along with her defenses]

[the apology is because she's now deploying a cartoonishly large hard light super soaker to blast him away with not water but a pressurized, smothering geyser of more hard light]

[he barely is able to dodge that, bringing up a literal wall of ice to block]

[at least he's not setting her on fire anymore???

the super soaker stops and morphs into a battering ram aiming to bash through that wall of ice

she's also going to use this moment where they're separated to redouble her focus on her defenses so her basic force field expands some and takes the shape of a generic gundam/mecha with gadget suspended in the center of it]

Please give up! Let me rescue you from a world where you feel like you have to fight!

[...he pauses, and stares a little at her sudden giant robot, and then he charges forward.]

... I'm a hero, I'm supposed to fight! And this is a competition!

[her robot proceeds to grow a large energy blade from one arm which immediately begins taking some slashes that leave arcs of damaging hard light lingering afterwards as obstacles, otherwise she just keeps using Harden reinforcing her defenses around the cockpit area of the mecha that she's located in]

I think a hero has to do more than fight! There are other ways... but if this has to be a contest to the end...

[she trails off but doesn't stop fighting]

[he doesn't hesitate to throw up a giant avalance of ice, trying to trap her and all of her light obstacles]

[she does not have a handy counter for this one]

Oh no...

[which is to say she's trapped by ice spikes in her mech and all she can do is dissolve her slash obstacles and sword to refocus all her willpower and energy on keeping her defenses from being obliterated and her from being skewered or buried]

[she's not getting skewered. he's very careful not to bring actual harm to her. if she loses the control of her mech, though, she'll end up being trapped inside the ice. her head and hands will be free, though!]

[eventually she can't maintain her resistance to the pressure and is indeed trapped in ice]

[she doesn't say anything but when/if he approaches she will absolutely try to sucker punch whatever part of him is level with a very deliberate and focused pair of hard light beams from her eyes]

and to that end she's exhaling some hard light dragon breath at the ice but she can't get the right angle and she's cold and... yeah it's over if he gets up]

My processors are literally freezing...

I know, but I had to try one last time. It wasn't my loss until I was completely spent. And I am now.

[just breathes out on a huff. his breath is icy and he's shivering a little.

gonna walk over to her and put his left hand on the ice, effectively melting it and freeing her]

I know, I know... I'm sorry if that's not what you wanted. It was an experiment for me too, getting to test out these powers. I'm not normally someone who can stand on the front lines.
