Heart Game: Duality - Round 3

Your sleep is restless, and it's hard to settle as your eyelids refusing to stop twitching, and you can feel an itch at the back of your mind, flashes of uncomfortable thoughts dipping in and out of your dreams, constantly interrupting your tries to relax. ... Are you even asleep?

Apparently you were, because you wake up with a start, cheek pressed uncomfortably to steel flooring and flickering lights overhead. Unfortunately, you don't feel very rested at all.

[The lights flicker overhead, slowly turning a darker shade of red.

Catuality scrambles a little to stay close to him, but ends up tumbling down his back as he retches.

He doesn't leave, though, immediately getting back on his paws and carefully nudging his face against the back of his legs :(]

[ He doesn't know what's worst, if it's living through it just now, knowing it's a memory and that it happened to Duality, or knowing it could happen again - this time, to him. It confirms all the fears he has about games, about this place, about being powerless against it.

[Catuality immediately turns to curl up in his arms, staying a comforting presence.

The lights are flickering now, but they're not going out or changing colour.

This bend actually only leads to a very short corridor to a fourth left bend.

You immediately actually comes across another short "corridor", and leads to a right bend. Keep going?]

[ yes with any fucking luck he'll find a exit or something ]

[Not really. You do find a fork in the road, though, because now you have two right bends after one another. Which one do you take? The first or the second?]

[ He's gonna be taking the second and see where that fucking leads ]

[It leads to... mud? Or something like that, because your feet suddenly sink into the carpet, and it's like walking through a swamp.

The corridor is long again though, and again, the next bend turns to the right instead.]

[ he hates this labyrinth already he wants a refund

but okay fine he's gonna keep going, mud or not ]

[You reach the bend! You're also knee deep in the floor(???) of the corridor. How do you get out of this? Seems like you've hit the end of the mud. Maybe you want to climb out of it. The air is getting a little sticky and thick, hard to breathe.

There's another corridor and another right bend at the end of it. Do you proceed?

Catuality is putting a paw on your hand, nosing at it.]

[ well this calls for drastic measures. He's going to open up his jacket and stick catuality in it, letting its tiny head be free but otherwise keeping him LOCKED INTO THE JACKET once he zips it up again, just to keep it there. He'll use one hand to lock him in place, and then, with the other

he's gonna propel himself at the very end of the corridor, using his Quirk ]

[...Catuality doesn't protest, but cranes his neck to look up at Hardcore, blinking slowly, ears flicking.

And then he digs his claws into probably somewhere painful in surprise as they're flung across the corridor.

The moment Hardcore flies into the bend, he'll be able to see that it turns to another long corridor, though this one ends in a wall. There's also a door to the left at the end. Yay?

Too bad he lands right into another memory as soon as his feet touch the floor.]

[ he's fine with claws digging into him because frankly poor cat doesn't deserve to be blasted along with him, but MUD.

Too bad indeed that then there's another memory of DEATH, and he's going to need another moment to recover ]

[Catuality wiggles a little in his jacket so he can turn around and bump his head against Hardcore's chin.]
