Heart Game: Intensity (Turn 5)
In the beginning, there is nothing but darkness and silence. A sleep that gives no rest but one out of necessity in order to keep functioning. Behind closed eyelids, the numbers of a clock tick down - one painstaking second at a time.
TIME UNTIL REBOOT:

And then you wake up.
As you shift to a standing position, you feel something sharp and pointed press against your side. Digging into the nearest pocket, you will find two small puzzle pieces. And from their odd shape, it looks like they would fit into a 3D spherical puzzle. Odd. You've never seen them before, but you do get a sense that these are a currency of some sort. Spend them wisely!
Game start.

Re: NPC Summon
[ TIME TO TRY DEFECT he is not even going to waste time on whatever King is about to do here.
unfortunately he rolls a 2. ]
I can already tell you it's a pass on whatever you're here for.

Surely I can make it worth your while.

Yours if you win.

Yes. Yes in fact, he does. ]
Are you declining my offer?
no subject
[ He's going to try Defect one more time—this time with a roll of 5 ]
no subject
Gonna have to roll higher for the ultimate rival, my friend.
Also he MAD cuz no one will play a game with him? The fuck? Who are you people!? ]
Final offer.
[ And he slams a poker deck on the table. ]
Take it or leave it.

Blackjack then.

Unless you cheat.
Do you cheat? (yes/no) ]
no subject
His options are a little limited outside of card counting though. Are there any spare decks in sight, any chance of palming cards? ]
no subject
You are absolutely able to palm cards should you choose. ]

Just when it looks like victory is within his grasp.
King flips over a winning hand.
And the shadows darken until only the glow from his third eye is visible. ]
You couldn't uphold the rules of the game.
[ Did he catch you cheating, good sir?
Of course he did. (He caught Kaiba cheating as well back in the day.) ]
no subject
Maybe not the 3rd eye, but the rest of this ]
You look like an absolute maniac, and you're challenging people to a game in a building named for death. What did you expect?
cw: gore, getting eaten by monters
The first chapters of Yu-Gi-Oh were a time. Okay. ]
You're right.
I expected this very outcome.
Penalty Game: The Experience of Death.
[ The shadows elongate, dripping from the walls and crawling across the floor until only the center of the room remains. Then it takes the chairs. The table. And King fades from view with a not so sane laugh.
You feel something bite into your shoulder. Your side. The back of your calf. Your stomach. Piece by painstaking piece you are ripped about by the very monsters in your deck - claws tearing and rending. (Perhaps even your own tentacles wrapping around your neck). Until you choke on blood or nothing - you can't even tell up from down anymore. As you are quite literally torn apart. ]
[ And after it's over, you snap to. Just a dream. Just a vision. But it felt so real. ]
[ Because you cheated, you may choose to keep this nightmare for up to 1 IC week after Heart Games.
Cheaters never prosper, you know. ]
1/2
But somehow.
Experiencing this over a game of blackjack of all things.
It's a little too much.
He's been screaming himself hoarse through the vision of it, and even when it ends abruptly he's left shivering for a few long moments while his mind catches back up to reality. ]

You fuCKING MANIAC I WILL RIP YOUR EYE RIGHT OUT OF YOUR FOREHEAD!
no subject
You can't bring physical violence into a card game----!
That's now how this works! That's not how any of this works. ]
[ That is to say. You have successfully decked King with the table. ]
no subject
What the fuck is wrong with you.
[ He is ONCE AGAIN trying defect, because even as enraged as he is he'd prefer not to do any lasting damage to part of Intensity's heart. Even one as fucked up as this.
Rolled 7! ]
no subject
At least for the remainder of the Heart anyway. ]
What's wrong with me? Nothing.
I'm just doling out punishments as people deserve them.
no subject
Agree and I will allow you out from under the table.
no subject
Fine.
