IMPOCALYPSE
BATTLE MECHANICS
Note: characters that are heavily injured may acquire corruptions. There will be heavy maiming.
- This is a turn-based fight. PCs will take their turn, the boss will react, and then the boss will take their turn. Players will react and take their turn, and so on and so forth.
- You may take up to six actions in one turn, including dodge. You may attack up to 6 times if you're not dodging, and you can attack even if you are dodging or fail to dodge. If a swing delivers more than one attack (throwing multiple projectiles at the same time) then it's counted as one "action".
- With every strike/blow/attack, .roll 1d6 twice (or !2d6. MAKE SURE TO DO IT THIS WAY BECAUSE NADEKO IS A TRAITOR. The first dice determines whether your attack succeeds or fails, with 1-3 as fail and 4-6 as success. The second dice determines how much damage you inflict on the boss. Please include both numbers with your comment on your turn.
- Roll for every strike, not for every turn. If your character decides to shoot 4 times in succession, roll a 2d6 for every bullet.
- Green text can be dodged, but red text is guaranteed damage. Dodge by using a 1d6, 1-3 as fail and 4-6 as success.
- UNIT ABILITY MECHANICS ARE HERE, but please note: this is not the end-all be-all of how these powers can be used, and these are not the only powers that can be used in a fight, these are just the ones that affect rolls specifically. The session's runner always has the final say, so ask if you want to do something cool but you don't think it's street legal. (It probably is.)
Note: characters that are heavily injured may acquire corruptions. There will be heavy maiming.
EFFECTS LIST
- Black substance, both sticky and acidic
- A sticky substance that seems to cling to everything it touches, and is impossible to pull off. It melts through flesh, but the more it melts, the more it seems to become absorbed. Sufficient absorption of this substance in any capacity (skin absorption, digestion) will result in corruptions that may be permanent. May be removed by severing the affected area, or by bringing the affected area to the deadzone.

give him a minute tho he's not. used to this monster fighting life. He's going to stay crouched down, checking himself over for damage before straightening again and looking around to see how everyone else is— not that he has supporting moves, but! ]
Re: PLAYER (RE)ACTION
5 on success for first roll, Makes perfect means all subsequent rolls are also successes.
Damage rolls: 6 (which gets In Solidarity applied, so damage for the next action becomes:) 6, followed by another nat 6, and another in solidarity for 6, and then a 5)
Damage total: 29 ]
Re: PLAYER (RE)ACTION
Unfortunately, it's enough of a distraction so trying to strike at the creature just doesn't work (2) and Peanut certainly can't do anything either (3).]

[There!]
[He releases the handle from his beak with a loud shriek as he changes into a really big fricking ape, catching the handle with his giant hands.]

He's barely realized he hears the shriek before he's changing, keeping the handle in his mouth until the last moment, snatching it up in still-forming hands at they plummet down, dragging the wire (hopefully) through the creature's wing with their combined weight.

Re: PLAYER (RE)ACTION
He's sent flying backwards into a storefront on the opposite side of the street. He'll be... pretty stunned. And he has to use his ability to heal to try and fix the damage from colliding into a wall.
But he's dizzy and off balance as a result...?
He's... trying to make his way back. He'll probably reserve this for heals. And he may need some help shaking that
He can't physically attack it personally while stunned but he'll absolutely use picking me apart again on it repeatedly

throwing four handfuls of knives—each are situated between his fingers, four with each handful: of them, 7 succeed and 7 of them fail, plus 2 crit fail.
Success (5, 5, 4, 4, 6, 6, 5) with damage (4, 1, 1, 6, 1, 6, 4) totalling 23.
Failures (2, 2, 2, 2, 3, 2, 2, 1, 1).
Using part of your Property with the blades inside to try yanking that fucking beast down way closer to the ground, possibly even crash the fucker. I rolled a 4 to succeed this roll and then a 5 for damage but IDK what it should go for so shruggeroni ]
BOSS REACTION
Rye and Talon drop from above, shifting through animal forms to drop from above, carrying a strand of razor wire held taut—and just when it seems like it won’t cut all the way through the beast’s wing, Lucifel pulls it down with part of your Property, giving it the final jerk it needs to separate, screeching. Levi using picking me apart Again probably didn’t help it, either.
Cobalt arrives on the scene just in time to dodge the droplets and to slash through it with his shuriken; Duality doesn’t dodge, but grits his teeth through the sudden ill feeling to land more spear strikes. Angel is not so lucky. Wowee this feels bad! ]
BOSS ACTION
Three of them surround Thorn, latching onto his legs with their hooked beaks and tearing, while three slam into Rye surprisingly hard for its size, knocking him across the pavement. Three team up to slash at Cobalt with their claws, while the last gives an eardrum-puncturing shriek directly into Duality’s ear. ]

[He really didn't think through the landing strategy-]
[He let's go-remember concrete jungle-and he hits the ground running, then a roll and then his feet, a stumbling, lumbering path to try and get control, to turn around, and attack-]
[Then he gets three tiny monsters slamming into him and he goes rolling, and there's more bruising and he's sure he feels something crack-maybe several-]
[You do not stop moving in a fight!]
[He changes form back to his human form, drawing his sword, because he thinks he has to-]

—ARGH!
[The demons rip deep gashes in his arms and legs and chest, and he very nearly electrifies himself to get them all off when he remembers he's in water. Instead, he violently spins his shuriken like the world's most evil fidget spinner at quadruple speed and saws at them, aiming for necks and faces to get them off.
