Ascian's Ideal World: First Run

You are in a dark place. All you can here is ticking for a long, long while.

Then a bright light, a pure white crystal, taller than the dorms itself, appears in front of you. It's voice echoes in your mind.

Hear.... Feel... Think...
A Light there once was that shone throughout this realm... yet it has since grown dim
And as it has faltered so has the Darkness risen up in its stead, presaging an end to life.
For the sake of us all, I beseech thee deliver us from this fate.
If thou would pierce the shadows... make thee a blade of light.
Hold onto it, child.
Return His Dark servants to your realm.
But beware, ever is He trying to grow his power. Do not get caught.

And the light vanishes you find yourself with a crystal in your hand.

Though you are again left in in Darkness before you find yourself in a vast city standing in front of a large teleportation device.

Objectives (if your character can translate Hydaelyn vagueness):
1) Convince both Ascians to leave
2) Don't get tempered :) (or killed if you don't like mind control)

Additionally you may choose EITHER canon or OR imeeji powers to be active. You can wait to decide until you use a power, but once you use a power that powerset is locked in as your choice.

Also if people are in the same area as you feel free to mingle. It is in fact encouraged. Also your phones work only to text and take pictures (basically for the purpose of communicating in case you are in different spots).

[ oh no what is he supposed to do with that. He hugs him back right away and furrows his eyebrows, a little conflicted over what he's supposed to do here now ]

Am I? I just found out apparently we live together.

You live in the Akademia. Your bed is simply there.

I would have rather you came on time, after the summoning was complete.

[ aaand there it is. He can't even make a joke about that first part because all his suspicions are correct ]

Is it truly necessary? Nothing's on fire right now. What use do you have of Zodiark?

On the other side of the star, it is. Lahabrea brought back a specimen. It was just like before.

[ he seems to be considering for a while, and then just nods at it ]

I suppose that makes sense.

[ and then he's going to hand him the crystal he got ]

I received a message along with it. As you can imagine I want absolutely nothing to do with it, so. Do with that what you want.

What's this? Who gave you --- no matter. Well, give it here.

[The crystal floats above his outstretched hand. A sigil appears over his face, flashing brightly for an instant. The crystal turns into a small earring --- a metal clasp with a small clear bauble hanging off their head, dripping of a more purple arcane energy.]

Tilt your head now. I won't poke you too hard.

[Actually it just happens to stay on without a piercing.]

What message?

[ he's going to try to move away, making it clear he doesn't want it ]

I gave it to you because I don't want it anywhere near my person, putting it on my ear is the last thing I need.

Some bullshit about restoring light and returning you and Lahabrea to our realm. This is obviously a game, but I'm not going to listen to her any more than I'm willing to listen to him..

[He sighs.]

'Tis simply a crystal. I imagine with your studies you can make vast amounts of use of it.

Her.... Hydaelyn?

It's a crystal that can be used to kill you.

[ the way he says it makes it clear keeping it is not an option ]

That's my guess anyway. I heard a voice in my head the same way I did when I found myself in your dream. Different bullshit but same thing.

I'm not going to listen to her but you know none of this can possibly be real, right?

I would argue how could it not be real?

Because last I checked we were still in Hell, and if we managed to get away I would not be here with you without knowing where my family is, and you know that.

I do not fault that. You should remember. But it is not a little over the top to say the fault is with the entire star and not you? Even for you.

[ there's a scoff at that ]

Why would I receive a message from Hydaelyn otherwise? I'm not a native from your world and I haven't be receptive to it anyway.

Under normal circumstances I might at least take your words in consideration. But I'm fairly sure you're compromised and unable to see the truth right now.

Why indeed? Did we miscalculate.

[ well whatever conversation he wanted to have doesn't matter anymore now, does it. he hears the high pitched sound and that would already have been unpleasant enough, but then it gets worse.

For the first few hours, for the first few days, he really tries to cling onto his rational thoughts. It's an illusion, this is a game, it's just like when he died last time. It isn't real.

So he tries to remind himself that it'll be over, keeps looking over and over at his tattoo to ground himself — the anchor Emet-Selch suggested to him.

But the days go on and then the people he loves die one after the other, right in front of him, before he can catch them. And at the end of it all, the realization that he's responsible for it crushes him.

The vision end and he's in control of himself again but it's still too fresh on his mind — he takes a step back and he looks terrified and disoriented, not sure where he is or what's going on anymore ]

This isn't right, that's not— that's not possible.

[He takes his hands.]

I know you've never been keen on the idea, but there is a purpose to all this. You shouldn't have been here now. But I have work to do. And I need you to promise me you won't meddle.

No, no, you don't understand, there is someone out there, it's not me—

[ and he's killing everyone. He isn't able to think clearly and focus on what Hades is saying right now, not while the memories of that vision are still fresh, but he does manage to make out "there is a purpose to all of this" ]

What the hell are you talking about?

The Convocation is gathering for the summoning. The sacrifices ready. I do not want you to be here for this.

If I shouldn't be here then neither should you.

[ he reaches for him, hands on his shoulders, gripping him maybe a little tighter than necessary because he's still shaken up ]

Listen to me Hades. You don't have to go through it again. The sacrifice and the summoning — it can't be the only solution. Leave with me.

[Taking his hands and shoving them off.]

And doom all of this to fail. What madness do you speak of?

You're going to go through with this and you're going to be miserable. I'm not letting you.

We already time traveled once, didn't we. Then we know how to go back again. If you need more time to come up with a different solution then find it.

This doesn't have to be it.

This is the solution. There is no other way to prevent the Final Days as much as you and I would like otherwise. Lord Zodiark must exist.

[ he's going to bring a hand to the back of his neck and pace around for a few more moments. He knows from experience that averting his eyes is not going to cut it, so if Emet goes with the summoning he'll get tempered.

And after that vision not being in control of himself doesn't sound great, and he's no longer so sure of what's real and what is not. ]

What about Hydaelyn? She will always come back and then you'll be right back where you started.
