[ When you insert the key and open the door, you'll find yourself in a humble cottage, in what seems to be the living room specifically. There are several doors, but a specific one catches your eye: simple in its decoration, the door has a cute little wooden plaque with flowers carved into it. Though the door is closed, you can see through it—as if it's somewhat transparent.

A wooden cradle sits in the room beyond, which is otherwise plain. Inside, a baby sleeps peacefully. When she stirs, calling for her parent, you are there to cradle her back to sleep. ]

[ Slowly, the scene changes, fading in and out with various silent scenes—the baby coos pleasantly, giggling jovially when you (presumably) make faces at her; she tries to pick herself up and falls over, but she does not cry; a disagreement between you and her lead to a thoughtful discussion; the young girl carries a large laundry basket to do chores; she buys a pet bird, looking so proud for having earned the money all by herself; then the wall becomes opaque. ]

[ In the middle of the open doorway, a young girl the age of 10 stands, smiling at you. A bird with beautiful plumage rests on her shoulder.

This is your daughter. You tried your best to rear her, and she's been good to you. You know she is capable of anything if she puts her mind to it - even becoming a princess. But you also know it's not easy to become a princess - she'll have to work hard, and she's capable of it but you'll have to guide her hand, most certainly. Better she become a princess than go off to war, though; you could not stand to see your baby girl die on the battlefield. Whether she actually becomes a princess or not . . . well, that's up to fate, isn't it? All you can do is try your best. ]

Well, that's a dumb thing Loki did. Fortunately the game is over so he doesn't really get far and there are no far-reaching repercussions, probably.

Vidar gets through to her...a bit. But, well, one day she talks to Persephone.

...Dad? What're ya doin'?

I'm trying to, ah, see if it is possible to bring her back.

There is! If we could use magic, we could heal her...

Um...I mean, we'd have to worry about the plague, but...

...I miss her so much. Sophie...

...the, ah, plague? Like those awful rumors, or something else?

[gently headpats her.] ...I know you, ah, do. She was...your most important, ah, person, wasn't she?

She was. Is.

[ she knocks a hand against her forehead ]

She ain't dead. She's just...she's just broken. So I gotta fix her.

...I just, ah, have one question for you. Before I give you, ah, this book. [looks as though he is going to hand her the book.] Is it what she would, ah, wish?

[ she thinks about it for a moment, genuinely. ]

She would want me to carry out my duty as her knight. To protect her at all costs. That's what she always told me.

And this is how you feel would, ah, best protect her?

Of course.

[and will rest his hand on her head.] ...be careful, sweetling. And good luck. [and will hold out the book to her.]

[ taking it. ]

Thanks, dad. I ain't gonna let you down. I ain't gonna let anyone down again.

She doesn't let you down.

She promised she won't let anyone down ever again.

And she doesn't. She practices magic. Necromancy, healing. As time goes on, she becomes paler and paler. Sher skin turns a blue-ish white -- she almost looks translucent? Her fangs enlargen, her hands twist into hideous claws --

And most wonderfully of all, she sprouts a pair of wings, proud and noble.

And Sophia? Her dear Sophie lives once again.

Her lady, who she defends with her life. Who she loves more than anything in this world. Who will never die, because Aster Hela, her guardian angel -- or rather, her valkyrie, will drag her back to the world of the living each and every time.

And maybe she loses something each time, but that's fine. Isn't it? She just has to keep fixing her.

Whenever she breaks. Whenever anyone she cares about breaks.

She just has to fix them.
