Requiem's Ideal World run #1

Oh. You have a text-- wonder what that's about?
...
...
?
Hey, there's some junk in here that's not in the right spots. Take a good look around and fix that jazz. Everything's got a place or whatever.
No sense in hiding from yourself, right?
... what is this, a text for ants?
Re: a song of adventure
Re: a song of adventure
Req pauses to turn back to you, alarmed. "Woah-- you okay?"
When you look back to see what you tripped on, it's a gold crown.
Re: a song of adventure
“The heck’s that?” She frowns at the crown, then hesitantly reaches for it.
Re: a song of adventure
It's sharp, with three red gems laid into it. The feelings you get from this are... cold. you shiver, and feel desperately alone while you hold it.
This doesn't belong here.
Requiem backs up a step, quickly.
Re: a song of adventure
She means to drop it, but her fingers clench tighter instead, defensive against the cold and the overwhelming loneliness. Another few beats and the grip goes offensive instead, metal beginning to creak and bow, though she's not sure if it's the crown or her fingers.
Either way, she keeps attempting to crush it, less because she thinks it will work--if anyone has that power, no way it's her--and more because she hates it, and hates what it means, and what if she could destroy it after all? There's surely only one way to find out..
Re: a song of adventure
It bends very slightly in your hands... but nothing more, too hard and frigid to hold for too long.
Requiem is frozen(ha) herself, watching you with wide and slightly horrified eyes.
Re: a song of adventure
Damn it. Her hand stings, and it trembles just as much as her right. Fucking phantom limb.
Re: a song of adventure
And there's a long pause where she doesn't... actually seem to know what to do. But she snaps back to attention, taking that step back to you and reach down to take your hands, clasping both of yours in hers, rubbing them warmly. "Come on," she says, muttering. "Let's... go inside."
Re: a song of adventure
"Sorry for being clumsy." She pulls up a Hurricaneish weak smile; keeps moving to get some distance between them and the crown. "You okay? You look like you saw a ghost."
Re: a song of adventure
She lets you lead, but doesn't manage to pull up any humor for the joke, just... clasping your hand right and looking away.
"It's. It's fine."
Re: a song of adventure
"Anyways...we're almost at your place. You'll be okay...okay? You don't gotta worry about that stuff no more."
