When you close your eyes, bone-deep fatigue crashes over you like a wave—almost like it was just waiting to catch up to you the minute you stopped moving.

Within the darkness, you can just barely hear the echoes of distant voices, too faint to identify . . .

"Jealous of his normalcy? Maybe just a little."

"Man Eater is so scary! Man Eater is a killer! It's all very alarming but. . .that's all there is, isn't it?

Neeheehee, brutish as you may be, someone like you will never be more than that. You'll kill, and you'll die. Over and over, until it's permanent some day."

"And you're the same... Hitoshiki! The truth is you're just a serial killer who's only good for killing—so why are you going to school like some normal kid?! Leading a dual life when you don't even have a dual personality—it's not fair! Why only you?! It's not fair!"

"It's better not to fight, sometimes. I feel kind of sorry for you..."

"So what it comes down to is this. Would you rather stay what you are, or be happy?"

Gradually, those voices blend into the hum of a bustling crowd... naturally enough to make you wonder if perhaps you were just hearing things, after all.

- Powers are off. No items (except phones) or weapons. Everyone is fully human upon entry to the world, if they weren't already. All cyborg parts are replaced with flesh bits, corruptions are gone, etc.
- Phones work, but you can only text or call other idols within the Ideal World.
- You are all simultaneously working to accomplish the same goal, so collaboration among players is both allowed and encouraged! ]

SCHOOL GROUNDS

When you open your eyes again, you find you've been dropped right in the middle of a vibrant school festival. Student-run booths line the grounds, most of them selling all the simple Japanese festival foods you can imagine—yakisoba, yakitori, shaved ice, you name it—with a few makeshift game stands sprinkled here and there.

There are tons of people around—some manning the booths, others wandering around enjoying the festival—but they all seem oddly... nondescript? Almost faceless, but not in a creepy, horror movie way; it's just difficult to focus on any of their features.

There are two exceptions to this rule: specifically, two boys dressed in gakuran uniforms who are making a commotion near one of the booths.

If you keep walking past all the booths, eventually there is an entrance that leads into the school building.

Upon closer inspection, at least one of the boys is a familiar face. That's definitely Man☆Eater, only dressed in a gakuran and with his long hair pulled up into a ponytail. The other is an extremely short boy with a giant face tattoo and unkempt black hair, who you may recognize from a memory.

The booth they're hanging out next to is labeled "RUSSIAN ROULETTE TAKOYAKI." Face tattoo boy is doubled over in agony, while Man☆Eater seems to be having a good laugh at his expense.

"Gyahahaha! Oh, c'mooon, it can't be that bad. Here, let me have a taste." Man☆Eater suddenly dips and kisses Face Tattoo, then pulls back after a few entirely-too-long moments, licking his lips. "Mmm... See? I knew you were just being a baby."

"DROP DEAD!"

... and they keep going on in that vein, but you could probably interrupt if you wanted.

Upon heading inside the building, you find yourself in a typical school hallway, decorated festively for the occasion. Notes of music drift down the hallway; there's probably a live concert going on somewhere in the building. Those familiar with any of ☆ZRAEL's long line of musicians may recognize some of the singing voices.

The walls are covered in posters advertising the various events and exhibits, including the following:



You can go to the left, to the Cosplay Cafe; to the right, to Class 3-☆; or even further down the hall to the right, to the Haunted House. Where to?

The windows of this classroom have been boarded up with black paper, covered in "bloody handprints" (clearly just red paint).

Right outside the door labeled as the entrance to the haunted house, there is an empty box with a sign that reads "LEAVE AN OFFERING OR BE CURSED."

Hitoshiki swats at his finger. "Gimme a break. Doesn't having an invitation count for something?"
