[ When you insert the key and open the door, you'll find yourself in a humble cottage, in what seems to be the living room specifically. There are several doors, but a specific one catches your eye: simple in its decoration, the door has a cute little wooden plaque with flowers carved into it. Though the door is closed, you can see through it—as if it's somewhat transparent.

A wooden cradle sits in the room beyond, which is otherwise plain. Inside, a baby sleeps peacefully. When she stirs, calling for her parent, you are there to cradle her back to sleep. ]

[ Slowly, the scene changes, fading in and out with various silent scenes—the baby coos pleasantly, giggling jovially when you (presumably) make faces at her; she tries to pick herself up and falls over, but she does not cry; a disagreement between you and her lead to a thoughtful discussion; the young girl carries a large laundry basket to do chores; she buys a pet bird, looking so proud for having earned the money all by herself; then the wall becomes opaque. ]

[ In the middle of the open doorway, a young girl the age of 10 stands, smiling at you. A bird with beautiful plumage rests on her shoulder.

This is your daughter. You tried your best to rear her, and she's been good to you. You know she is capable of anything if she puts her mind to it - even becoming a princess. But you also know it's not easy to become a princess - she'll have to work hard, and she's capable of it but you'll have to guide her hand, most certainly. Better she become a princess than go off to war, though; you could not stand to see your baby girl die on the battlefield. Whether she actually becomes a princess or not . . . well, that's up to fate, isn't it? All you can do is try your best. ]

She reaches out to hug Hiryuu, nodding - and then she nods again, but it's a hiccup, like she's

She leans a little to that, appreciative of his gesture.

[ OKAY hugs intensifying. ]

You did the right thing, telling us what happened. Did you ask her if you couldn't share the doll? Maybe take turns playing with it on different days?

"S-she just said I was a, a t-thief, so - so I -"

She sniffs, and shakes her head.

"I don't wanna share a doll with her! I don't wanna - b-but I worked on it too, so why's she get to. . . . ?"

[dragonheartedgirl]

[ petting her hair. ]

She said you were a liar, right? So... then let's find the evidence to prove her wrong. So that your teacher and your classmates will know the truth--that you weren't a thief. And we can make you a better doll together, one that's just yours. How does that sound?

". . . Isn't that going to . . . be bad? I don't want to make any trouble. . ."

[dragonheartedgirl]

You're not making trouble. You're standing up for yourself and for what's right, and you're doing so without hurting anyone. It's important, for both princesses and normal people, to stand up for the truth when they know it--and to make sure that wrongs don't go unrighted, whether it's an uninjustice done to you or to someone else.

The girl nods, listening carefully - and she scrubs at her eyes.

". . . Okay. Okay. . ."

We'll help you, too.

[ pets her head and helps dry her face ]

Because that's what families and friends do; they help each other.

She nods again and sniffs, still teary-eyed.

". . . Okay. Thank you, Mother. . ."

Joy gives Hiryuu a big hug, squeezing tight - with her strength, that's not much at all.

You confront the teacher and the girl with the evidence that shows - the doll was at least in part her right to have, or at least she wasn't a thief for wanting it. Still, the accuser doesn't budge; the teacher tries to placate you and talks about how, well, you know, these materials were donated by this girl's family so really it does still belong to the accusing girl, and they can't really know what happened on that day, right?

At the very least, Joy's classmates seem to be divided on the matter, which is better than what could have been the case - everyone could have thought she was a thief and she wouldn't have said a thing against it. But you stood up for her, and while not everyone agrees or believes in you or her, the matter is complicated enough now that there's at least doubt that your daughter is really a criminal.

You make a new doll with your daughter, and it's a thousand times better than the doll she made in class - that's what she thinks, at least, and she's happy with the situation at hand. She learns that she should defend people, including herself - and she'll stick up for herself too from now on.
