princess maker - avante en garde
[ When you insert the key and open the door, you'll find the room inside looks like the living room of a mansion. There are several doors, but one in particular stands out to you: it is ornately decorated, the very door's wood itself carved beautifully with gold etched in to make luxurious patterns depicting what looks like the sky and the wind blowing through the grasslands. Though the door is closed, you can see through it—as if it's somewhat transparent.
The room is painted baby blue and a gold-plated cradle sits in the room. Inside, a baby cries - high pitched and noisy, though immediately a nurse comes in to rock the child back to sleep. ]
-
[ Slowly, the scene changes, fading in and out with various silent scenes—the baby sits up, trying to climb out of her cradle; a little toddler dressed prettily with expensive clothes beams pleasantly; a tantrum, thrown by the little girl who's distressed; the little girl holding a puppy, pleased as punch; then the wall becomes opaque. ]
[ In the middle of the open doorway, a young girl the age of 10 sits on a chair, smiling at you. a golden retriever is curled up beside her.
This is your little girl. you couldn't help spoiling her, honestly - after all, she's a noble too, and she should like to become a princess as well. She deserves it! But you also know, with how your history's gone, she's going to have to work to get to the top. Still, you have faith in her - she's your girl, after all. ]

That's all well and good, but there's more: it seems that there's some shady business happening with the Silver Duchess' posse, something . . . strange . . . something about Plague Bearers . . . ?
Wait, this doesn't have to anything to do with the drugs! But Princess Gold is feeling threatened by the new kid in town. What will you do?
DECISION

2. Once again, Gold staying SQUEAKY CLEAN, intensively coaching Princess Gold so she can overcome her rival. Nemesis will also stay squeaky clean, helping him with coaching Princess Gold in other aspects of rivalling it up.
3. Invite the Silver Duchess and her mother over for a party, to show there's no hard feelings. While they're preoccupied, Ace will (subtly) ply the mother with drinks to see if she'll let anything slip. Cardigan's going to be absent on business for the party, using it as an opportunity to sneak into the Silver Duchess' home to investigate for evidence of shady dealings.
4. After the party, Ace and Cardigan will continue to handle the investigation into the exploding servant, keeping it under wraps as tightly as possible, while Gold and Nemesis handle the public aspect of things.
5. Also pressure the authorities to investigate the exploding servant...? Just to make the culprit nervous. Maybe they'll slip up.

The exploding servant is . . . interestingly . . . a Plague Bearer, which is obvious, but also a Plague Bearer that's owned by Silver's mother in specific. She doesn't walk around it at all - her daughter was meant to have a Plague Bearer as a gift, but the pet ran away, and then she heard about the investigation and the description of the exploding servant, and, well. She doesn't really feel it's her fault - they're an unruly bunch, you know? Absolutely unsavory sorts. Well, what can you do, though? She had already submitted a Lost/Stolen claim to the authorities weeks ago, of course - so this is not her responsibility, whatsoever.
She doesn't particularly care for your probing - what you should know is that she is 100% behind her daughter and she will do anything to support her. She's even got a dress for every sports occasion. You don't understand how serious she is until she breaks out her volleyball petticoat, alright?
It is not very easy to break into the Duchess' home, but Cardigan manages to slip in - and what they find is . . . not quite related . . . ? It looks like the Silver Duchess is pretty unsavory herself - not about drugs, not about human trafficking, but she is a bigwig with the gambling ring back from her old town . . . hey . . . what the fuck is . . . hey . . . . ?!?!?!?
She hasn't really gotten invested in it here, but that's where all of her money comes from. More than that, though, it seems she's supporting her deadbeat Duke husband, who has an alcohol habit as well as a sex habit. He's fairly scandalous - but he's also not around . . . ? What is this fucking mystery?? Why is there so much corruption here????
Cardigan manages to get out of the Duchess' home safely, fortunately.
The authorities have put the exploding servant out on WANTED posters - this criminal Plague Bearer will have to be sentenced to death, if they can be found! There's just no other way around it! Has to be death!
Your daughter's temperament is snobby.
Your daughter's morality is neutral.
