The walls and floor of the room are nearly checkered with metal panels, out of place against the rest of the marble flooring and unremarkable off-white walls.

Losing both eyes would be troubling. Humans don't have strong senses to fully make up for the loss of sight.

It wouldn't be able to see how pretty we are anymore! Or read its things in the next round!

It would be a disadvantage in the future for sure. I doubt such a sacrifice would be worth a win in this game.

...Just one eye may be fine.

One eye would be a lot more fine than both, at least.
