[backstory]

[ The ugly feelings recede a little, fought off by your strength of will. But when you look down, you realize that while you were swept up, dark vines have loosely begun to entangle their way around your legs. They are easily shaken off for the moment, but there is no end to them. The earth continues to rumble and shake. Beneath the surface roots begin to tear themselves up from the ground, ripping through anything in their path as gigantic flowers begin to combine, growing and melding together and reaching skyward.

As the monstrous flowers begin to take shape, towering well above you, the serpentine-like form it begins to take is...distinctly like that of a dragon. It roars and the sound is-- pained. That’s the only way to put it. The dragon of flowers and vines thrashes around wildly, it’s tailing stomping the ground dangerously near you.

For a moment there is a pause. The massive beast breathes heavily before empty eyes turn down to the party below-- and it is clear that it fully means to attack. ]

[Something almost seems to make her hesitate. But she grits her teeth and swings her arm out. Her dragon claw suddenly expands.]

I can't allow you to bring any harm to this place!

[She rushes forward and swings the giant claw into whatever part of the dragon she can reach. 10+9=19, then 2+4=6]

Even though he technically passed his sanity check, I guess this freaks him out enough that he hacks reflexively at the vines but doesn't actually hit anything in a way that does any damage. (12)]

Not so fast-- We won't let you...!

[ Serenity takes aim with her acorn slingshot and hits (11 + 5 = 16), dealing (3 + 2 ) 5 damage. It's... super effective, apparently.

Those are serious acorns. ]

[backstory]

[ It really doesn't like any of that. The massive creature groans, branches, and vines creaking, flowers worming their way across its massive body to try and repair damage done, shifting like an ever-changing tide.

Since Northstar wants to go toe to toe with a dragon, a massive claw lifts up and tosses her up and off of her feet (1). It quickly sets its sights on Wednesday then, smashing its tail down from above in an attempt at crushing her beneath its weight 3, before swinging it wide to knock hard into Cobalt, throwing him toward Northstar 1.

Lastly, it turns it's empty eyes to Hiryuu, and with a heavy smash to the ground, it distrupts the earth, sending rocks and rubble flying all along with her 1 ]

Nnngh!!

[Northstar is flung off of her feet and lands on her back (9 HP). She tries to roll through, getting back up to her knees just in time for Cobalt to come flying at her. She brings up her claw to try and catch them, but, well, this is probably gonna just plain hurt for both of them.]

[ No one is allowed to hurt his master, girlfriend, or friends. Fangs gritting, he does what he hasn't been able to do in forever, it seems... his claw sweeps out to attack the massive creature. Attack 23, damage 7 ]

[ Let's TRY THIS AGAIN. She's pretty pissed after watching you toss around Northstar and Cobalt, not to mention trying to hurt Wednesday. her own wellfare, well, maybe someday she'll care more She aims, she SHOOTS!

[Blinking back tears (of pain, they're just pain) she pushes herself back to her feet, tripping slightly on her skirts as she straightens, grabs another handful of acorns, and tries again.

[Aim. Ignore the aches in your shoulders; the shaking of your hands. Ignore how your vision's blurring. Ignore how bone-deep frightened you are. Pretend it's not just acorns, pretend you know how to help. Pretend, for a moment, that you're someone brave.

[ She also looks to check on Hiryuu and the others, but... it looks, for the most part, like the damage isn't too bad yet. So she can save the healing acorns for later. For now--

[Unfettered by being knocked back, Northstar runs straight back in, rearing her arm back and smashing her claw into one of its legs, not so much trying to slash it with her claw but just smash the leg as hard as she can to take it out from under the dragon and make it harder or at least more painful for it to stomp around.
