[ You all wake up in bed with your smartphone at your bedside, all of you in your sleepwear, with a message on your phone.

Good morning, newly departed guest stars! You've got new co-stars to meet, a new dorm to explore, and the television in the main room with the "names" of everyone in your unit with flashing empty boxes next to them, waiting for you to each assign yourself a personal color as well as a mythological creature (if that is available to you—some of you will have that option grayed out). Or assign them to each other, really, no one's stopping you.

Once you've chosen your color and creature (or, once it's chosen for you), your closets will unlock with 3 sets of traditional Japanese clothing fitted exactly to your size. Additionally, upon choosing your creature, you might find yourself suddenly with some new appendages (check Player Notes).

Also, the front door is currently locked. It looks like you actually have no choice but to get to know each other for an hour or two before those open up. ]

It's not the easy way out, that's the thing. I may threaten people all the time, but it's still something to take seriously. If I have to be stuck on a unit with a bunch of people I don't know, then I'm going to prioritize you guys over some alliance with a bunch of other people I don't know.

[He rests a hand on top of her head.]

I still think an alliance is one way to get us killed, but I do understand where you kids may disagree. Your hands aren't covered in blood yet, but if this place is going to make us kill anyway - no matter what alliance we make - you won't be getting out of that.

...

[ She's quiet for a moment, but then-- ]

I don't think anyone said that we shouldn't be prioritizing our own unit. When worse comes to worst... we protect ourselves more than anyone else. But I think only in dire circumstances should we do that.

[ And then, she adds, a little quieter than usual, solemn: ]

......besides. My hands are already full of blood as it is.

[Ah. That actually makes him a little sad.]

That's no good. Kids should get to be kids.

[He sighs and then drops his hand from her head.]
