HEART SOLDIER SENSHI
[you find yourself in this derelict village, with not a soul to be seen—but before you is this station wagon:
for all intents and purposes, this baby is a simple "honk, steer, pedal to go, brakes to stop" vehicle that anyone with opposable thumbs can drive. despite its age, it does have a handy GPS system that displays paths you can take, but fails to identify anything like landmarks or other worldly features. last but not least: its paint job is done in your unit's color!
The following can be found in the trunk/dashboard:
• Icepicks
• These 5 Bone Saws
• A surgical set
• A single miniature of 99 Bananas
• one large first aid kit containing nothing but bandages and bandaids]

ONE OF YOU ARE FREEZING!
Hypothermia: you're freezing, and if you don't get body heat now (or through the night) from at least one other person, you get the feeling you won't make it through the night.
Frostbite: one part of your body (a finger, a hand, a foot, a limb, a patch of skin, ANYTHING) is being consumed by numbing frostbite. If someone doesn't help you remove it stat, you will not make it through the night.

[It's the game: Alisaie realizes that on some level. That it wouldn't have mattered if she'd done anything to cause it or not. She can't seem to make herself care about it, though. Not after everything else, not after trying and failing to get to Alphinaud, not after listening, helplessly, to him die. That her fingers are twisted and blackening and the skin of her arm is pale and waxy as corpse-flesh hardly seems to matter.]
... oh.
[That's as much as she can muster up, now.]

[She's numb, she's just so numb. Even knowing, this is bad, she can't seem to make herself feel it. Mayhap, if she does nothing, it will kill her, too--

[Even in her numbed and hollowed-out state, that gets through to her. It looks bad, it's looking worse by the second, the white corpse-flesh creeping its way up her arm and stealing away all sensation; the blackening of her fingers, her palm, her wrist.
[She draws a breath, and another. Tries to flex her fingers and she can't.]
... you're right, aren't you?
[He'd never forgive her, if...]

[ Said calmly even as the color starts continuing further up her arm. ]
And I do not believe anyone else but myself is in a state to take care of it at the moment. Will you allow me to?

[She hesitates.]
I - it's terrible, but I think I'd rather it were you than anyone.
But I think I will have that banana stuff now, if you don't mind.

[ He procures for her the banana concoction and the bone saw that Alisaie managed to save from the car. ]

[Alisaie is glad Zhongli got the lid off for her. She's not sure she could have managed, had she tried it herself. She downs it like the medicine she wishes it was - it tastes strongly, and sickeningly so of bananas, and burns like fire. It hits almost as hard as the blow to the head would have, and it leaves her reeling.
[The snow is cold, but she lies down just in case.
[Breathes.]
... do you have anything I can bite on?
[This is going to be awful.]

[ He offers them to her as he crouches next to her, lying out bandages and gauze to deal with the inevitable bleeding. ]
Once you tell me you are ready, I will count to three. After that, just concentrate on yourself, all right? I will handle the rest.

[Her voice is steady enough, at least.
[She breathes, just that: she counts ten of them. Focuses on the cold, the dizziness, the numbed and dizzy sensation that is drinking to take the edge off. Then Alisaie closes her eyes, she places one of the rolled-up gloves between her teeth. She nods.]
Ready.
[She'll never be that. But what choice does she have?]

One.
Two.
[ And then the sharp pain of her hand being removed in a single precise stroke ]

[It's quick as it could be. It's even merciful. She'd been right, about the saws, and saving them--
[It hurts. It hurts it hurts it hurts: so much she's left gasping and choking on the leather, tears standing out in her unbandaged eye as she struggles to catch her breath again. Alisaie doesn't dare look down at the - the wound, the site, call it what you may, she doesn't want to see it. Not now.
[Her muscles have been tensed, of course. Now she slumps.]

You could remain here and try to dig Alphinaud out, but I believe that we both know such a task is impossible for any of us in our current state. And I do not wish to leave you behind. Selfishly because I do not want you to become even more injured. And realistically the more people we have cross the finish line, the greater our chances of winning is.
