-Maiming is possible because vikings man.
-Death is TECHNICALLY possible, but it will be incredibly hard. Not in a knives don't work sort of thing, but if you try to die, you'll see.
-If Rye is aware of your CANON POWERS, you have them. You still have unit abilities.
-Hell corruptions are 'invisible.' If your character focuses, they can feel them, but they are difficult to Perceive.

[Welcome to the Isle of Berk. You find yourself in an arena, dug into the ground with a chain dome above, currently suspended in the air on a pulley system to allow easy flight in and out. The air is cold and carries the sea breeze, though luckily you find yourself dressed well enough in furs and leathers.]

[Before you stands a woman, a hard, serious, slightly judgemental look on her face. There is an air of authority to her, someone who should be listened to. Which might be undercut a bit by the baby Night Fury that follows after her as she paces in front of you. Notably, she never almost steps on the thing. It is always perfectly safe. Watching nearby is also a Deadly Nadder.]

Welcome to your opportunity of becoming a dragon rider. It is a great honor to join our ranks, but its also extremely dangerous. If you are not prepared to commit to your partnership, it could cost you life or limb.

Today will be a small taste of that. You could give up and leave, but otherwise, the ways you leave are sundown, with a lifelong friend and partner, or you need medical attention. Luckily for all of you, Hiccup has convinced these dragons humans aren’t an enemy so they shouldn’t go for your head right away.

If you fail, you can try again, but you will be learning from me instead of Hiccup. And trust me when I say, my standards are a lot higher. [There is certainly a hint of Danger in her words.]

[She stops her pacing, and turns to face all of you.] So. Who goes first?

Might I ask what the purpose of a dragon rider is?

[She raises an eyebrow at that.] How have you been friends with Hiccup and not figured that out?

The purpose of a dragon rider is to bridge the gap between human and dragon so we can live in peace and become better together.

Or befriend and learn all about the dragons, Hiccup just also knows he has to think about greater goods.

That is a just and noble cause and one that I am in favor of.

But rider implies that one individual holds more power in the relationship.

Its more of a group name then anything.

If our dragons didn't want us to ride them, they would make it known. It wouldn't be much for Stormfly to just dump me into the sea.

Or worse, if she wanted.

[She pulls out an apple and puts it on her head.] Spine shot.

[And the Deadly Nadder, from behind her, suddenly flicks her tail and releases a spike that pierces the apple and sends it flying across the arena.]

[Astrid didn't even flinch.]

But I know she won't. That's the power of our bond.

Dragon riding, huh? Has anybody actually tried to bail after that speech?

Well, first try is Hiccup's method. So just have to think how Hiccup would handle the situation.

Having a dragon partner is a pretty good way to get over that.

...seriously, how many of you guys are going to ask that? You really think Hiccup would subjugate dragons?

Its a name for a group. What would you suggest? Dragonteers?

I didn't say that. I'd just call it an alliance, if we're meant to try and be partners. Maybe put a call out for suggestions later if it keeps coming up.

If things go right, it usually works.

Pretty much just been a thing with you guys. Which is weird when Hiccup is the one introducing you to the concept. You know, the guy with more then one boyfriend and girlfriend, and yet we all know hatchet to his head, he'd choose Toothless.

We say dragon rider, everyone knows who we are. If the partnership isn't equal, we don't let you be a rider.

Zhongli Dragon

[This dragon]

[Is too big to keep in one of the pens surrounding the arena.]

[So instead Astrid sends off the baby night fury at her side. Who darts off and comes back in a minute.]



[Its a very large dragon that lands in the arena, following the baby dragon, watching him scamper off to Astrid, who gestures at Zhongli.]

[He turns to him.]

[ Somebody lights up with pure joy. This is the best day ever.

He approaches the dragon and bows low in front of him at almost a ninety degree angle before righting himself. ]

Greetings. I am Zhongli.

It is a pleasure to have your acquaintance.

[The dragon holds himself tense at the sudden approach because even a calm dragon knows humans can be Tricky.]

[But then]

[The bow]

[Oh]

[That's different from humans.]

[He will lower his head to examine him more closely. Sniffing him curiously, making a growly croon sound in reply.]

Nemesis' Dragon

[those_of_berk]

[Astrid is going to open a door to a pen, which appears....empty?]

[Well, it has a large hole in the middle, with water and more rocks piled in it. She grabs a mace and whack it in the ground a few times before getting out of the way.]

[There is a rumbling of the ground and then the dragon emerges from the hole.]



[He clambers on out, a rather large dragon, but able to fit in the pen at least, until it gets out into the arena.]

[He does appreciate the enthusiasm, but he is just standing by the door, watching her with some curiosity.]

Tsukasa's Dragon

[The pen opens and this dragon doesn't linger long in the pen with fish and water and a comfortable looking nest.]



[She climbs out along the top and along the chains, wanting to see Everything now that she was supposed to meet someone.]

Kitsu's Dragon

[those_of_berk]

[There was actually sound from this pen, something almost melodious, until the door starts to open.]

[There's fish and water in this pen, as well as a few chimes, something musical to sooth.]



[She gets up from where she's curled up, carefully stepping out of the pen, but not fearful.]
