[ Once you enter the Escape Room, a series of messages pops up on your phones: ]

TOTAL⚓DISASTER: Wellll it looks like Naffy's out of commission? It'll take her awhile to reboot with how hard she just got hit by the autocensor!
TOTAL⚓DISASTER: Whatever you did, it really made her mad! Haha!
TOTAL⚓DISASTER: Anyway since I know what's going on now, I'm happy to help! It looks like the nature of the threat is a gang war between an evil thought sealed and another that you all and your fans helped to return to the world of the not-so-living? Wild!
TOTAL⚓DISASTER: In case you didn't get the memo, this means you're going to explore the combination WcDonald's and Damned Queen's Cookies!
TOTAL⚓DISASTER: There you'll find something you're looking for, probably…? But mostly you're looking for a way to contain the outbreaks!
TOTAL⚓DISASTER: And fortunately, we've received a message from a friendly entity known only as "The Borger King", who apparently has a stake in the downfall of Lonard's lost empire…
TOTAL⚓DISASTER: It says:
TOTAL⚓DISASTER: There is a war going on for your mind. Steal their secrets. Create the Ultimate Prankburger. The king awaits. Salvation will come.
TOTAL⚓DISASTER: Wow! It looks like it's time for corporate espionage, or something?
TOTAL⚓DISASTER: Anyway, you get to keep everything you find, unless it's a dolphin! That's mine.
TOTAL⚓DISASTER: Better get going! Charge!!!!!

[ And then everything goes white... ]

[ She's very careful about her hugging being unsure how squishable he is, but she's thorough! ]

Too bad I'm cold myself, usually I'd be warm enough to help with that. Although I guess you're not too small to help with my body heat problem. [ Since hugging him is warming her up nicely. ]

I'll make sure you get around okay until you can fly again. Or walk, or whatever else. I can't exactly be alone right now anyway, and I wouldn't want to if I could.

[ And Venti gets hugged, so their relations all continue to be very symbiotic ]

Once I change back, I'm sure I'll be able to help with that more.

Lupine has the same problems, so we're counting on you. [ But also just a cuddlepile would be nice. ]

But it seems like these things last a few days, so no hurry -- well. No huge hurry. [ Another headkiss because eternal thirst is a hell of a drug and she'll take what she can get. ]

I can at least promise to keep you company in the meantime . . . !

Even if my company is small.

I have complete faith that you'll be a handful at any size.

And keeping you close is helping me keep warm, at least. I don't suppose that's universal? [ If not she'll wrap him in something for warmth, it won't take up much cloth at the moment. ]

I'm definitely warmer now. ♪

[ Though the nature of status effects and being soaking wet means he's still cold, being cuddled is a huge improvement no matter how you slice it. ]

You'd probably fit down the front of my corset if you think it'd help. [ Mostly joking here but not entirely. There are probably worse ways to travel? ] Might be a bit awkward if you suddenly return to your other form, but sometimes you have to take risks in life.

[ In the meantime she reaches down and casually yanks off another chunk of her skirt. It's lined so it'll at least mop up some of the water, so she starts doing that. ]

[ Leaning helpfully into the cloth ]

Hehehe . . . that wouldn't be so bad, but it might be hard to have a conversation that way.

[ Just gently trying to get him dry, what the hell is with all the water and pie ]

True, but I can hardly help it if wanting to be groped is part of my effects. [ Mostly teasing here, unfortunately his current form can't do much good there, but it'd get some funny reactions and might actually keep them warm. ]

Are you going to be in a bad way once you change back? [ She didn't really want to ask, but ]

Oh . . . um . . . probably.

I think I got chopped up the first time, but it was hard to tell . . .

[ Trying not to look too upset here, but she hugs him again so that's probably telling ]

If you can't heal yourself up we'll figure it out.

[ Pause as she goes back to drying him off ] I wish they'd let us stay together.

[ Making a noncommittal little sound ]

If they had, you and Lupine might have met the same fate as us.

If I'd died trying to save you, I'd be fine with that. I feel like Lupine would be, too.

[ She has priorities, okay? Staying alive while people you care about die is awful, even if it's not a permanent death. ]

[ oh my god??? ]

You can't just say that!!!!

-- Why not? [ She fails to see the problem. Trying to save people she likes is a lot better use of her time and abilities than playing around with WcFlurry machines. ]

No one should ever by dying for me at all, for starters!

[ A pause that goes on just slightly too long to be comfortable ]

I'm a fighter. It's what I was made for, or born for. I might as well use my abilities to try and protect the people that are important to me, otherwise I'm nothing but a killer.

[ . . . Sighs long-sufferingly

How can he explain his resistance when he would have to untangle so much just to fully understand it himself? And would it even be worth it anyway? ]

Okay.

But I'm not on the "fixing death" unit, just the "fixing injuries" unit, so you'll have to keep it to near-death incidents only.

[ She usually loves getting her way, more or less, but this doesn't feel like that. Mrr. ]

I'll try my best to do that. [ She says it with a serious tone, almost formal. She's not trying to throw her life away ~~right now~~, she's just accepted it as a consequence if it means maybe saving people. ]

I'm sorry if I upset you. I wasn't trying to.

It's okay. Maybe I was just surprised.

[ Having anyone around who cares that much? Bizarre. ]

[ She finishes drying him off, then snuggles him again. It's not like she doesn't sort of get it; if someone offered to die saving her, she'd think they were out of their mind. Who would risk themselves to save something that probably shouldn't even exist? But it's not like she has a death wish here, she just wants to be worthy of the people who (somehow) put up with her, especially the people who saw that awful memory and aren't afraid of her (which means a lot more now that she showed someone that memory and they are afraid of her). ]

Don't worry, I have better things to do with the next few days than fighting. We just have to make sure to get everyone back in the proper amount of pieces first. I solemnly swear to leave all serious thoughts at the bedroom door.

[ Nestling up against her again. Warm . . . ]

If that's what you want. But you know you're welcome to share those thoughts rather than stow them, right?

[ Laughing in a way that is self-deprecating at the fringes ]

Trust me, you don't want to hear it right now, and neither do I. I'd much rather have a good time with these effects than fret about things I can't change.

[ Petting his head fondly ]

A "good time," huh . . .

You can't be surprised. It's not every day a lady has a perfect reason to spend several days in bed, and here I have two.

I'm sorry it didn't turn out as well for you, but maybe we can turn things around, hm?
