[When he notices, a few reactions surface, again like wavelengths splitting and meeting. He soaks up praise when it's about this specifically--there's a glimpse of his unsatisfied hunger for affirmation--but also he actually has a lot of affection for this guy and reliving goading him like this is a little embarrassing, especially because he knows his ruefulness can be felt.]
