Really, if it hadn't been for the sake of this story, I could almost be irritated with him.

But I broke my son's imagined cage once already, so perhaps this is a good occasion to remind him that I will do it as many times as it takes.

[ The memory starts in another dream, this time of a garden with a wisteria maze; in the memory, it doesn't take Amaranth long to put together whose dream she is in.

Once she finds Persephone in the heart of the maze, what she says to him there shatters the dream-cage almost immediately. ]
