[Now that Nine-Nine is stunned, he runs back to Corona Quick as a Wink (speed is 24 this time jesus fuck), and, instead of shocking him, Cobalt gently clasps his head between his hands and applies Cloud Nine.
Any bad emotion Corona is feeling will be swept out of his head as if carried away on a refreshing wave of clean water. He'll still be aware of his bad emotions but they're too far away to reach him now.]
[Falling on his ass to the sand. Actually, fuck it, he just lays down completely and puts a hand over the stab wound. He's like 90% sure none of these people are going to finish him off, and 100% sure if he attacks again the terrain will kill him.

[Cackling and wincing at the same time as his hair gets yanked, it's probably a strange sound.]

[He only stumbles back a step then before regaining his footing in the shifting sand. Nine's eyes fall on the sword by Cobalt, but is pretty sure Cobalt would prevent him from getting it.

[Listening, listening really closely in fact. He doesn't say anything in response, and Anubis can probably hear the wheels turning in his head. He is right. He wouldn't have just laid down and died. A miscalculation on his part.

Nine puts all his weight into forward momentum and wrapping his fingers around Anubis throat. Is it agility to get the stranglehold or strength to squeeze? Dunno, but in any case he rolls under for whichever it is - (str 5, agi 8) 2 2 4.

[he probably should have seen this coming, and yet. his eyes go wide and disbelieving and he tries to say something that might be Nine's name, but just ends up as a choked wheeze.
his hands wrap around Nine's wrists in an attempt to tug his hands away, but most of his energy his going into kicking Nine in the kneecap.
[Doesn't even try to block. Too intent on strangling.
The kick to kneecap does turn his leg which would normally not be a problem ---- but sand. It twists his ankle and he falls losing grip on Anubis' neck leaving a few pink lines on the way down. Again not normally a problem except when you have a gaping chest wound and a side wound that are jarred upon hitting the ground, jarred just enough to make minor internal bleed into major internal bleeding.
Nine coughs up a wet mouthful of blood trying to push himself back up, but looks like he used up the last of his reserves as he slumps to the ground.]
[ yugi is still shaking like a leaf. he can’t seem to get a hold of himself even though the negative feelings aren’t really plaguing him anymore. ] I- I- I killed him. King, I… he… I don’t know what I, King, I’m… K- King…
[Turns his attention back on Corona. Oh man, Corona killed King? He had no idea King was even here. Cobalt immediately regrets all the time he spent farting around with boats. He should have gotten here sooner.]
Oh, buddy... I'm sorry. [rubs his back] King will be okay, though. You can talk it out when the game is over. I'm sure he'll understand.
[ “killed”, but he’s completely unawares that his memories have been tampered with and altered, so he believes himself a murderer and, no, he can’t deal with that, especially not when he straight up stabbed his other self… his other heart!!! ] I can’t talk to him! I… I can’t ever face him again, not when I… I stabbed him, Cobalt, right in… the chest, point blank, I killed him. He’s gone because of me!!! ME! W- What kind of partner kills their other self?!
Listen, this isn't the first time King has been in this kind of game. I've talked to him about it in the past, and I'm confident that everything is going to be alright. You just have to trust him, okay? It's going to take a lot more than this to damage what you guys have.
