Mori's heart

All at once a rainbow of bright lights feels as if it is bursting through you. It is an intense experience, but not an unpleasant one. As the colours burn through your skin, and lighting begins to spark through your veins, you feel stronger, you could take on the world right now.

Faintly in the distance, beyond the iridescent light show that overwhelms your vision, you can just about make out some silhouettes, but they’re too blurred, too indistinct and too far to tell anything about them. You can’t see them, but you know they’re welcoming you. You’re wanted here, you’re needed here, and the light is guiding you where you’re meant to go.

Let's go, dude, I'm getting you out of here.

[He goes to scoop him up in a princess carry - can't quite manage it, like he's used to having more strength than he currently does. Instead he touches down, crouches on the ground, and maneuvers the boy's arms around his neck.]

Hold on tight. Kay? We gotta book it.

The boy nods, whimpering as he clings to your shoulders. Whatever force is pulling down the trees is steadily getting closer, causing the people around to panic more and the boy to cry out in alarm.

Where do you take him?

[Back to the door he came through - he pulls it open and sets the boy down on the other side, then turns back toward the disaster.]

[Anyone else nearby still in trouble?]

The boy cannot exist through the door, and it refuses to let him pass through.

There are, however, police nearby trying to direct the crowd towards somewhere safe.

[Oh, cool. Gonna drop the kid off with the police, then.]

One of the officers takes the boy, "We've got him, we'll get him to safety. You too, hurry to the shelter."

Thanks, dude. Just make sure he gets there. Kay?

[And he's off again, darting through the air at top speed. Anyone else nearby still in trouble?]

"Oi-"

The police aren't letting you move away that easily, one of them grabs your arm. "This is our job, you need to leave helping these people to us, and to the heroes, and get to safety."

...you got it, officer. Straight to the shelter.

"That's right." They say, carefully letting him go.

[He takes a couple of steps in the direction that they pointed him toward, like he's heading for the shelter.

[...as if. As soon as he's out of reach, he launches himself back up into the air and takes off again.]

YOU ARE A CRIMINAL!!!

There are so many people in trouble. From up in the air, screams seem to be coming from everywhere. The entire forest is ablaze, and there are cries in every direction. No matter where you go, you'll probably find someone in trouble.

There's also whatever is causing all the trees to crash down still.

[He is less worried about trees than he is about people, honestly. Unless there's anyone directly in the path of the tree-crashing, or that seems like it's more dangerous than all the rest of this mess?]

It sure seems like something is happening over there, but he won't be able to tell unless he investigates it. Everywhere seems dangerous. Everywhere people are in trouble.

[Well, it's definitely coming closer, and it's definitely bad news. If anyone's hurt and in its path, they're going to be in trouble, so - let's see what it is, at least.]

You fly down through the woods, past the screaming crowds and into the darkness of the trees. As you get closer to the source of that crashing, you can hear the sound of a child sobbing, and of a man's laughter.

[Veering toward the sobbing, that can't be good.]

You run into the middle of a fight, Talon is fighting against a villain from Mori's memories, but over in a small cave area obscured by some bushes, a child is huddled, trying to stay out of sight and trembling in terror.

What will you do?

[Jfc, that sure is WC's newbie getting his arm broken.]

[The kid'll be fine for a second while they deal with this guy, right? Right.]

[He's swooping in low to the ground to get one of the splintered branches from these devastated trees, and he is incoming.]
