Mori's heart

All at once a rainbow of bright lights feels as if it is bursting through you. It is an intense experience, but not an unpleasant one. As the colours burn through your skin, and lighting begins to spark through your veins, you feel stronger, you could take on the world right now.

Faintly in the distance, beyond the iridescent light show that overwhelms your vision, you can just about make out some silhouettes, but they’re too blurred, too indistinct and too far to tell anything about them. You can’t see them, but you know they’re welcoming you. You’re wanted here, you’re needed here, and the light is guiding you where you’re meant to go.

You touch the gun and feel immediate frustration, a bitter taste spreads over your tongue. You want to hate this gun, to throw it away, it's done nothing but cause pain - but that's too harsh. You can't bring yourself to do it, you feel unreasonable and unfair for thinking such a thing. Is this gun really so bad?

That doubt wars with the disdain, but as it is, you don't think you can accept it.

The stickers are placed on the table while the other two continue to argue.

--booooring. I'm gonna go check out some rooms on my own, okay? When you guys stop arguing about that stupid thing, then we can play.

They both turn to look at you, "Eh?"

The smaller one notices the gun is gone first, and turns to race towards him, looking panicked, "CB-kun no!"

[GOTTA DESTROY THE GUN!!!!11]

Don't worry, I know what I'm doing!

[SLIPS INTO.............THE SILVER HANDCUFFS ROOM]

Through this doorway you enter one of the hallways of a large, fancy building. The walls are covered in sprawling artwork, of varying skill levels. Pictures of cats, bats, volleyballs and rabbits running around with each other cover the walls. Paint cans and spray sit cluttered in the corner. There's a checkered pattern running along the top of the walls as a border, switching in gradients between white and black, white and blue, white and gold, white and silver, and white and green with black squares.

You feel a sense of belonging in this cluttered space, the entire place looks and feels soft. Comfy couches and pillows line the rooms, cuddly plush toys sit in piles alongside furby monstrosities and toy cars. There's a giant glass of water big enough to be it's own well in one of the corners, a set of fake glasses on a table, a box of snow, and so it goes on, wherever you look something litters the halls.

In one of the halls a volleyball net has been set up, alongside a soccer pitch, a large hamster wheel and a picnic blanket covered in treats. There's a room for sparring as well, decorated with motivational posters, and a prop room full of tricks with a stack of chairs and desks piled high, with a cute bat themed backpack in the corner.

[IMMEDIATELY LEAVES]

You walk right into both the Mori's outside tackling you.

"Gotcha!" HSS Mori cries, while middle school Mori searches through your pockets for the gun.

shrinks it so it's quarter sized!!1]

An ambush! No fair!

If it's shrunken they won't be able to find it easily but they will TRY.

"Give it back!"

"CB-kun, you can't keep that, come on!"

Is this any way to treat your friend!!

and then C's gonna try to CRUSH IT WITH HIS FOOT but that's probably difficult while being restrained]

Oh, it's easier than you'd think. With it that tiny, they don't manage to see it and grab for it in time, gun successfully smashed.

And then the two Mori's stop and stare, confused. The little one reacts first, squawking and jumping back, "S-S-Sorry! I didn't mean to get that rough."

The big one doesn't jump back, staying close to C and offering him a hand up, bemused. "What were we talking about?"

[..........shit what did i do WHAT DID I DO]

[sits up, taking his hand;;;;]

You guys were talking about sorting some stuff into rooms!

HSS Mori blinks at him as he helps C up. "...Oh! Right. Um, I think we've got most of it in order though."

Little Mori nods, "It's too early to add any more rooms, so, this is fine. I think..."

Youuuu don't feel like you're missing anything. . .? I super don't mind helping out a bit more, y'know!

They both tilt their head at you. "Missing anything...? I don't think so." HSS Mori says, while the little one starts to look anxious.

"Um, I don't think so either, but, could there be something... Do you think we're missing something?"

[don't lie don't lie don't lie don't lie don't lie--]

NOPE because I'm here! Neeheehee, what more could you need?

HSS Mori laughs, slinging an arm around C's shoulders. "That's right! I can't feel anything missing at all, so there's nothing to worry about."

The other Mori continues to look uncomfortable, but he always looks like that.

[eugh. but!! he beams!! if something's wrong he'll figure it out later. maybe]

Exactly, exactly! But uuuum. I was joking about one of you being more responsible, but why ARE there two of you here in the first place?

"Eh? What do you mean?" HSS Mori asks,

Middle school Mori shrugs. "This is just where we go."

Where you go. . .? Hm. I suppose everything has a place, for before and after. [claps his hands]

O-kay! In that case, I'll trust you both! Where do you think I should go? Where do I belong?

"Oh, definitely in here." HSS Mori jerks his thumb at the handcuff room, but the other one takes his time to answer, staring at C thoughtfully.

"I think you could go anywhere you wanted to be."

That IS a nice room. . .

[said playfully, but other Mori has his Attention. sliding over]

Anywhere? Even there?

[points to the door with an X]

Sliding closer startles him, he is a nervous little thing, but he nods.

"It... It would be alright, if you saw. I... I wouldn't, want you to stay in there, 'belonging' is an intense term and I don't want you to think a place like that is where you should stay, ah, that wouldn't be any good, but it's a place you'd be able to see, if it's you, it would be fine... w-wouldn't it?"

then hops over to the door]

Well, if Mori-chan says it's okay, then it's okay! Right Mori-chan?

I won't stay. If I did, who'd be your tutorial boss, hm?

[gonna try to open up that door]

It opens easily to you. Coming through this doorway feels like you’ve been doused in cold water. It's a small, stark stone chamber with torches dimly lit on the walls. The stone around them looks like they've been burned and charred with ash. Spider webs can be faintly seen in the corners, and there's a spray of an old bloodstain rusted so dark it almost looks black on a patch of the stone floor, next to a rifle propped up against the wall. A dented police badge lays shattered on the ground.

There are smudged chalk circles that look like they might once have been pentagrams dotted around the room, but they've been half-heartedly wiped off and left half-formed.
