[I'm sorry, Underworld is hetero-normative land and this is a traditional Norlangarth dance. You're welcome to use Imagination to make a miracle happen!
If anything continues like normal, you're going to dance with the woman from the bakery shop now. She seems surprised, and happy to dance with you.]
[If you tell Sol later, he'll gladly dance with you! But right now he's very much not here.
In fact, while you're dancing and regretting your life choices, you're going to hear a scream. Two screams? No, now there's more... They seem to come from different directions. Everyone stops what they're doing to try to see what happens, but no one can see it from here. Yet.]
[Couldn't you run in the opposite direction?!? Sol's heart disapproves!!!
People are screaming and scrambling to get away, so you might have a hard time making it there... but once you get close enough to see what's going on, you'll notice that some of the Imeeji people are fighting-- goblins, and that the goblins are Just Too Many. With these numbers, there’s no way this won’t be a massacre...
Fight System
This battle system is turn-based. An action’s success will be decided with a simple dice roll to be specified in chan. Success against an enemy can be measured in successful attacks and weapon class.
Weapon class: You can check a weapon’s class in its Stacia Window. A successful attack made with a Class 5 weapon may not kill a Goblin in one strike, but a successful attack made with a Class 15 weapon will! Try to find and wield stronger weapons for a better chance at a one-hit KO. Stronger foes will require better weapons-- or many, many turns and a lot of luck. This feels like a paid gacha endorsement, but it’s not. You have to explore and level up. You can’t whale for this.
Imagination (Appendix): You can bypass the need for a dice roll by using the power of imagination in certain ways! My System 3 description wasn’t complete due to c&p fail, so this is a good time to remedy that.
No matter what you do, you will always need a catalyst of some sort. For example, you may be able to Imagine a whip becoming a snake and have the snake perform an attack (why would you) (well, maybe you want to poison your enemy?!), but you won’t be able to summon a snake out of nowhere, or to turn a dagger into a snake unless you get really creative with your justification of why a snake might arguably have the shape of a dagger in a dormant state. We’d have to roll dice for this because of how far-fetched it would be. You can make your weapon bigger, but you can’t change its Class to a higher one.
Basically, you cannot use the power of imagination to override the mechanics in place, but you can use it to maximize your chances.
Please don’t consult whether something can be done or not OOCly! Let your characters the limits of this for themselves if need be (and avoid giving other people ideas in chan).
In all cases, spatial resources will be consumed.
While you realize this, the villager who was right next to you lets out a surprised exclamation-- when you turn to look at them, they collapse, face bloodied and scared, to reveal one goblin holding a bloodied mace behind them.
You are, of course, the goblin's next target.]
Enemy: Goblin
[You have the chance for a first strike! Or not, since you don't have a weapon. Either way, you get the first turn!]
[Everyone wants to run away, but somehow... most people seem to be trying to run away in the direction of the church, and you find yourself shielded by others?!
The way out of the village that you took when you first got here seems to be free of goblins. Maybe they came in through different gates-- everywhere else is chaos.]
[You suceed in getting out of the village! But then, right when you're crossing the bridge-- a lone goblin steps out of the woods, blocking your way. It's grinning (maybe that's a grin), and holding an axe.
The axe looks bloodied. The goblin looks wounded.]
Heh... You're not a Ium, but you'll do. Unarmed food... at last!]
Okami jumps on the edge of the bridge, quickly and with urgency, intending to leap over the goblin in a clean jump! However, his reflexes are still down. So he doesn't manage to jump as high as he wants. He accidentally kicks the goblin in the head instead.
[Okay! Most goblins are busy or away from here, and Okami won't run into any trouble. After a while, the road crosses the river again and then takes a sharp turn to the right.
If Okami looks up, he can see big, icy mountains blocking the horizon. There seems to be a cave up there too, but it's dark enough that it's hard to tell from here.
It's much colder here than it was back at the village, even though it's not that far away.]
[You walk, following the Rul river (that's its name!) upstream until you reach, yes, the entrance to a cave. The closer you are to it, the colder it gets. This is no longer just chilly-- soon you can see your own breathing.
(Please ignore the characters you see in the picture and imagine it's dark!). It’s not too hard to realize that this seems to be the source of the cold.
[MAYBE IF YOU WISHED HARD ENOUGH, your imagination could make a miracle happen...!
But since you're going inside like this, you'll find that there's ice everywhere and you'll have to touch the wall to know where to go since you can see nothing. The walls are covered in ice too, and since you're not wearing gloves...
Your life decreases by 5 points.
Thankfully, you manage not to slip and fall by being very careful!
[ He winces at the cold and immediately yanks his hand back. He's not great with imagination but as he's freezing his puppy butt off, he's going to make the attempt and try to picture the room slowly glowing with a radiant light that emanates from some cold-activated minerals that make up the rocks lining the cavern. He assumes it would be more of a pulsing radiance, mirroring that of those strange fish said to exist in the deepest waters of the ocean. ]
