Castle Game: Taisho Roman Revolution

[Suddenly, you hear the wailing of a horn. Outside, tension is turning to panic. You can't see anything, but you can hear people gathering up their things, sobbing in fear or speaking in harsh whispers. A lone voice calls from the distance:

The enemy approaches!

Upon the map, an unfamiliar geography appears -- several small nations, clustered together. Outside of them, an endless sea of enemy forces, identified only by a symbol of a cracked skull. Each of the small nations is marked with a flag in one unit's colour, and a tiny model of a castle.

You are at war. How will you protect your people and yourself?

Yes. Which is why I advocated for it this round. It is distasteful, but . . . we do not face good odds. With the likelihood of a loss in our future, it may be too late by the time we begin to defend.

[ Though he has relented, for this round. ]

Basically the key to playing is being able to be selfish. Would that be accurate?

With little surprise, considering we are in hell. They reward their own sorts of virtues.

[ He makes an unhappy noise, and looks aside. ]

Though they are doing little more than encouraging the evils that exist within man already. No human being is pure, and faced with our deaths it is not surprising that the instinct to survive is so strong that there are those that would murder to remain breathing, or so those they consider part of their pack may do so. Humans, ultimately, are little more than animals. So yes, you are correct. It does figure. A demon is simply what man does not wish to acknowledge in the mirror, given a form and drive to force the acknowledgement of that which cannot be ignored.
