Castle Game: BAD END=DEAD END

[Suddenly, you hear the wailing of a horn. Outside, tension is turning to panic. You can't see anything, but you can hear people gathering up their things, sobbing in fear or speaking in harsh whispers. A lone voice calls from the distance:

The enemy approaches!

Upon the map, an unfamiliar geography appears -- several small nations, clustered together. Outside of them, an endless sea of enemy forces, identified only by a symbol of a cracked skull. Each of the small nations is marked with a flag in one unit's colour, and a tiny model of a castle.

You are at war. How will you protect your people and yourself?

... well, this officially sucks.

[She sighs]

[ Tatsuya sighs as well. ]

Let's start off giving one to Lilis. We're... probably going to have to steal at some point though if we don't want to end up....

We're definitely going to have to steal.

Yeah. No avoiding it of we want to try to survive.

...And I do want to survive.

[Time for hair ruffles for Tatsuya]

[ He leans into the touch with a soft murmured sound. ]

We just got that alliance. If we want to keep it, we definitely need to send something their way.

We can save that for the final round. Especially if it doesn't look likely for us to get out unscathed. They'll need it most then.

So nothing to start with?

If we wait too long, they might be fucked by the final round, too.

We need to see how at least the first round goes. It could be like with the spikes and we get nothing the first round and get fucked over the second round, but more than likely, it's going to be like any other game and we get hit hard right at the start.

Some units might feel sympathetic toward us dying all the time and gift us things, but I don't think relying on that's a good idea.

It never helps any other game. I don't think it's going to help this time.

So we have two options: play with the intent of surviving, or play with the intent of taking a loss.

I dunno, I can't... do the second with good conscience. LiliS would understand that much. Our agreement is to save ourselves first and each other second. We'll stand by that.

...so we'll play to survive.

I don't want to end the game and not give them anything, though.
