Pokemon: The Grassy Hill

There's only one way to go from the Laboratory, and that's along the lane leading down the grassy hill. On the right side, there's a small farm where those of you that possess rideable Pokemon can learn to do so, as well as a farmer who could use some help herding their Mareep, Tauros, and Miltank. On the left side, there are large meadows filled with fruit-bearing berry trees, an ideal place for picnics and outdoor parties.

[ she covers a laugh. ]

Alright fine. We'll work on the base first and then find him a ~*~friend~*~.

Sharknado, which would you prefer? [ gabite seems to consider the options and then lifts his arms up, swiping at the air. ] Splitting wood it is. Let's see what you can do.

[ she grabs a piece of wood and throws it up into the air, and gabite gets ready and then slashes the wood in half. ] Nice nice~~~!

Oh! That's really impressive.

[ Hiryuu applauds!

Blaze looks. Sullen and grumpy. ]

Blaze. I have an even bigger and more important job for you. [ gabite immediately looks over, fussed. ]

[ she grabs a few of the smaller pieces of wood and starts setting them up in a pile. ]

Why don't we make a fire pit?

[ Blaze perks up instantly, the flame at the end of his tail flaring. ]

A fire pit, huh? That's not a bad idea. --Will you help chop some more wood for us to use, Sharknado? We won't be able to do without you, too.

Yeah. If we're going to have a bunch of awesome snacks at our secret base we're going to need the best fire ever, right, and I think there's only one pokemon capable of helping with that. [ gabite stomps, bristling as he stares at the back of her head. ]

Hey. Hiryuu. Why don't you assist Sharknado? I'll help Blaze. [ sharknado, plz, you're useful too, but she's trying to perk blaze up!!!! ]

[ gabite looks to hiryuu like really ༶ඬ༝ඬ༶??? ]

[ Ahh, they're both being fussy children.... ]

I could really use your help, Sharknado. I'm not used to having to chop wood--an axe is much heavier than a sword, and I don't know how to use the machine Meka was earlier.

[ She also holds her arms up for him to see--they look pretty tiny. Definitely not a wood-cutter's set of muscles, anyway. ]

[ gabite is happy to be of use. he spares d.va and blaze one final glance before looking back to hiryuu and nodding with a gab, gabite. he'll be your woodchopper, hiryuu. ]

[ he heads back toward the woodpile, stopping for a second to make sure she's following along. ]

[ Yes, yes! Hiryuu is following along.

Meanwhile, Blaze is looking up at Meka expectantly. Fire goes where? ]

[ as soon as gabite is preoccupied she'll look back at blaze. ]

Alright. We just need to grab a couple of rocks to kind of, like, form the perimeter of the fire pit, but then you're good to go, Blaze, you just light 'er up!

[ does hiryuu want to be impressed some more, because gabite will totally show off for her is she's willing to launch wood into the air. ]

Der char!

[ Charmander starts going around looking for nicely sized rocks to form the fire pit perimeter. He's honestly preoccupied enough doing this that he forgets about his earlier frustration quite quickly.

Meanwhile... Hiryuu is definitely picking the biggest and thickest pieces of timber for Gabite to chop. ]

Do you think you can manage these?

[ She probably can't throw them in the air, but she'll be nonethless impressed. And maybe along the way he can figure out how to work some fancy tricks in... ]

[ she is going to join him! it probably doesn't take long to collect a bunch of rocks, but as soon as the last one needs to be put in place she'll pass it along to him. ] You do the honors, Blaze!

[ gabite hovers closely as she sifts through the wood to pick him the perfect piece. ] Gabite gab. [ oooof course. he can handle anything! he puffs out his chest and bares his teeth in a smile. he'll step back and wait until she sets them down, because he doesn't want to accidentally hurt her. ]

[ Well, she'll go ahead and set them down so he can get to work then!!

Meanwhile, Blaze is going to go ahead and turn around and use the flame on the tip of his tail to set the wood in the pit on fire. It takes ver easily, to no one's surprise. ]

[ as soon as she puts the wood down he's going to cut them down for her. he seems thrilled to be getting his blades sharpened. ]

[ d.va sets a hand onto his back and gives him a smile. ] Great job, Blaze!

[ PRRAAIIIIISEEE!!! Blaze, like his master, seems to respond well to it.

Hiryuu, meanwhile, it also giving Sharknado his fair amount of accolades. ]

That's such a clean cut!

[ it looks like the two of them aren't the only ones who thrive on praise. he's thrilled to be complimented! it's not long before he's finished and he goes to grab d.va to show her. ]

[ d.va, on the other hand, points toward the firepit as she's dragged away. ] Hiryuu, look what Blaze did!

[ they got this!!. ]

Oh, goodness, you did such a good job, too, Blaze!

[ Coming over to Blaze to give praises and pets! ]

And with how quickly Sharknado is able to shop up the wood, we should be able to keep a fine fire going for a good long time.

Now we should probably try to figure out how to assemble the secret base, right?

Hurricane and I have managed to dig out the inside of the house and put together a frame, so that part's done. Prim is going to be in charge of decorating--with our help of course. And Eclipse is looking for a safe place to put the pool, which Charmeleon should be able to dig out in no time. So I think that leaves finishing off the bamboo and wood siding on everything, the tree house portion, finishing and filling the pool.

[ There's still a lot to be done but ]

We're making good progress!

We can take care of the siding, right Sharknado? You chopped up all that wood and now it's just a matter of putting it in place. Shouldn't be too difficult.

[ gabite nods, already heading toward one of the wood piles. ]

All right! We'll be counting on you two, then.

[ gabite does some sort of a salute and then starts. d.va does the same and helps him prep all the wood, so they can start affixing it to the base. it takes a while, a lot longer than she'd through, but with the two of them working hard they manage to get it done. ]

[ she's exhausted by the end of it, but gabite wants to keep helping, so he'll go check on hiryuu and charmeleon. ]

[ being exhausted is really valid, they're all working SUPER hard out here. While Sharknado and Gible have been busy with the siding, Hiryuu's been helping Abi to get the tree-house portion framed up. Charmeleon, meanwhile, is helping to dig out the pit for the pool ]
