Pokemon: The Beach & Bay

Keep heading past the downtown area and you'll come to a sunny beach and the ocean! There's a stall where you can trade your uniform for a unit-appropriate swimsuit so you and your Pokemon can enjoy the sand and the sea together! There's a cart nearby that gives out lemonade and ice cream for free to help you beat the heat. You can also take advantage of the local ferry: although there's a massive sign that reads "Safari Bio-Dome, Coming Soon!" for now it's mostly good for sight-seeing all the marine Pokemon in the bay or catch-and-release fishing off the side.

[smeargle wiggles its tail, flicking paint everywhere]

Well, have fun with that. Renko and I will just keep doing our own exercise.

his magikarp splashes a bit to demonstrate]

[fox kneels and wraps a plastic baggie around the tip of salvador's tail so the paint doesn't rinse out]

Renko, is it? He seems to be... ... ...just a fish.

Come on, he's more than just a fish.

[renko peers at fox, possibly disdainfully]

He's a completely useless fish.

[salvador approaches the magikarp and looks at it curiously...]

Surely he cannot be entirely useless.

[salvador looks at fox, then back at the magikarp, and performs Sketch to copy the magikarp's last move!

... it flops about uselessly in the water]

[renko looks at the smeargle in amazement

and flops uselessly with it]

That's pretty much all he's been doing this whole time.

[they just... keep flopping.

fox glances at his phone]

Ah. Salvador has learned a move called "Splash" from this encounter.

[avestan]

...Yeah, I can tell.

[splish splash]

I guess he's a useless fish now too.

I think it is meant to be a show of solidarity. After all, one does not have to be useful to enjoy oneself. And they do seem to be enjoying themselves.

[avestan]

Good for them.

[and he's just going to lay back down in the shallow water himself]

[everyone was doing it. fox tosses off his clothes and lays down in the shallow water, flopping uselessly with the others]

not that doodle particularly cares]

Now we're all a bunch of fish. Dia would be so proud.

Hmhmhm, indeed. We are as the mola mola, absorbing the nutrients of the sun.

[avestan]

I don't think the sun is really all that nutritious.

If it is good enough for the mola mola, it is good enough for me.

[avestan]

Mm, well. Sunbathing like this isn't too bad when you're in the water.

It is soothing... ah, I should be careful not to fall asleep. Salvador, will you keep an eye on all of us?

I don't think I'll be falling asleep anyway.

I don't know, I've only ever done it once.
