Pokemon: The Beach & Bay

Keep heading past the downtown area and you'll come to a sunny beach and the ocean! There's a stall where you can trade your uniform for a unit-appropriate swimsuit so you and your Pokemon can enjoy the sand and the sea together! There's a cart nearby that gives out lemonade and ice cream for free to help you beat the heat. You can also take advantage of the local ferry: although there's a massive sign that reads "Safari Bio-Dome, Coming Soon!" for now it's mostly good for sight-seeing all the marine Pokemon in the bay or catch-and-release fishing off the side.

[ she is going to tackle her pokemon into the sand and he borfs up the ice cream. he looks sad about it for half a second and then he rolls on top of her. ] Gabite gahahaha. [ he laughs it up and then looks back to king and eevee. ice cream detected. target locked. ]

[ he hurries back over to king and points to the ice cream, bending down and opening his maw. THROW IT IN, BRO. ]

[ King and Eevee exchange a glance before he turns back to Gabite, tossing the two wayward icecreams in.

ENJOY???

Maybe he still is mostly just a mouth with legs... ]

[ om nom nom. he rubs his tummy. ]

King! Don't feed into this! [ LITERALLY. ]

[ gabite turns around and sticks his tongue out at her. gya ha ha. he's won! ]

[ Giving her a sly smirk. ]

But he asked so nicely.

[ While Eevee sniffs at him curiously. WHERE DID ALL THAT ICE CREAM GO?? ]

[ he turns his head at the sniffs and then licks her! ] Gaaaabite!

...uhhuh. Suuuure he did. [ gets up out of the sand and dusts it off herself. ] Are you a pokemon expert now?

[ Eevee jumps in surprise, but then wiggles her entire but excitedly as she tackles him. ]

Back home, it was important to have a relationship with our monsters. So-

[ CHEEKILY: ]

Yes.

Being a duel monsters champ isn't the same as a pokemon champ... chump. [ now it's her turn to stick her tongue out at him. ]

[ he catches her and then starts making a dash for the water. swim time, friendo. ]

[ !! SWIMMING !!! Eevee takes off after him, running in an excited zigzag all the way to the water. ]

How would you know?

[ gabite hurries into the water and then dives through the waves, disappearing beneath the surface. ]

I thi- wait, no, excuse me. I know I'm the better trainer.

[ Eevee approaches more cautiously - she's small after all!! - and settles for tentatively sticking one paw in the water as it swells up the sand.

And then hops back, fluffed up and uncertain. ]

Really? Did you train him to cut open ice cream carts, or was that a surprise?

[ gabite's fine is visible when he's near the surface, but he doesn't bother coming up for air... at least not yet. he's having a blast swimming in circles and causing small whirlpools. ]

[ when eevee doesn't immediately join him he returns to the shore. ] Gabite gab. [ hop on, eevee. ]

I taught him to take what he wants... and clearly he wanted ice cream. All of it. [ folds her arms. ]

[ Eevee makes a questioning sound, but FRIEND would not betray her, so she cautiously scrambles onto his back...

While King watches all this and just laughs. ]

Yes, apparently so.

[ gabite is patient in waiting for her to make a decision. he's thrilled when she decides to join him, and he immediately tells her to get more centered on her back, so she doesn't want to worry about toppling off. she can hang onto his fin if need be too! he retreats into the water, hovering by the surface, so she can get used to things. ]

Gab gabite!

He's a total mush.

[ Eevee holds on tight, jumping a little as the water rises around her legs, but then perks up as she starts getting used to it. ]

And a good friend, by the looks of it.

[ ribs king. ]

Just like his trainer.

[ she grabs his arm and tugs him down the beach. ]

Let’s join them.

[ He laughs a little, but lets himself be dragged. ]

As long as we don't have a repeat of our last ill-fated encounter with the water.

We're not drunk this time, so we'll be fine.

Sharknado, c'mere, you can totally hold all of us, right!

Wait—

[ D.Va!!! ]

Really?

[ gabite turns towards them and then looks to eevee as if to ask should we go back and grab them too? ]

Yeah, why not? It'll be fun!

[ Eevee trills an undeniable affirmative.

To Gabite: ]

... Can you carry that much...?

[ as soon as he reaches the shore he calls out to them, because, uhm, YES, he's totally got this. gabite waits until king and d.va are close enough before he heads back out into the water and lowers himself. they should be able to climb on now. it'll probably be a bit tough for him at first, but he's confident he'll be fine. ]

[ d.va takes a few steps into the water and then realization strikes. the beach. she's at the fucken beach. with king. ] ... [ dontthinkaboutthat. dontthinkaboutthat. ] Fffuck. [ said under her breath as she TOTALLY THINKS ABOUT THAT. ] Uhhhm. I, ah, ... [ words. what are words. ]

[ King reaches for that fin to steady himself so he can climb on, but - ]

....

D.Va?

[ YOU GOOD??? ]

[ NOIMNOTFUCKENGOOD. ]

I... don't think he can carry all of us, but that's, uhm, that's fine. He can give the two of you a ride first. It's only fair. H- Hahaha. [ she takes a step back. ] Show them a good time, Sharknado. I know you can do it. [ thumbs up? thumbs up. ]

[ gabite looks... confused. what just happened. he looks over his shoulder to king and eevee and well, uhm, ok! he's going to start heading out. ]

[ Wait.............. what?!

Staring incredulously over his shoulder as they start moving away from shore, without the person whose idea this was. ]

—Hey!!!

[ she is suddenly not so sure how she feels about being at the beach. ] Hey yourself. [ n- nice comeback. she frowns as soon as she's sure he can't see she's frowning as she tries to keep from thinking about that. ]

[ gabite doesn't take them out too far and though he speeds around a bit he's kind of concerned about d.va. he calls out to king and eevee after just a bit and then starts heading back. ]

W- What?! No. You guys didn't stay out there long enough!
