Pokemon: The Beach & Bay

Keep heading past the downtown area and you'll come to a sunny beach and the ocean! There's a stall where you can trade your uniform for a unit-appropriate swimsuit so you and your Pokemon can enjoy the sand and the sea together! There's a cart nearby that gives out lemonade and ice cream for free to help you beat the heat. You can also take advantage of the local ferry: although there's a massive sign that reads "Safari Bio-Dome, Coming Soon!" for now it's mostly good for sight-seeing all the marine Pokemon in the bay or catch-and-release fishing off the side.

[Maki pulls her head back above the water, her soaked hair moving around her in the waves. And, almost offended:]

Of course I can.

[She gets her feet back under her long enough to tug her ribbons loose and pull her hair back into a single ponytail, and then dives under the next wave more gracefully this time, surfacing again right by Dratini.]

Of course you can.

[And with a shrug of his own, glancing back at Stufful to make sure he's not wandering off anywhere, he dives into the water after Maki and Dratini.

Dratini is over the moon and trilling long and loud over both of them being in the water]

[Stufful appears to be taking his advice and is messing around in the sand. She's only half-visible beyond a wall she's already constructed.

Maki seems almost as pleased as Dratini is, even if she displays it a bit more subtly.]

...And what about you? You're fine with all those wet clothes?

[bluescreenwhitedragon]

It wouldn't be the first time.

[He holds out a hand for her to take. Surely this is perfectly safe]

[rollplayinghouse]

[Surely.

From the look on her face she has zero expectation of it being safe, but she takes his hand anyway.]

Oh Maki. You wound me! Don't you trust me?

[rollplayinghouse]

In a situation like this, I trust you to pull something.

[bluescreenwhitedragon]

But how do you know you won't like it?

[rollplayinghouse]

...If I thought I wouldn't like it, I wouldn't have taken your hand.

[bluescreenwhitedragon]

[Brings up his other hand to cup her face]

On the count of three, take a deep breath.

[rollplayinghouse]

...

[she just nods slightly.]

[bluescreenwhitedragon]

[Oh. Is he supposed to be the one counting?]

One, two---

[rollplayinghouse]

[He said it!!

She takes a deep breath.]

[bluescreenwhitedragon]

[Good, he didn't want to actually count to three.

And then---

(probably unsurprisingly)

-- he dunks them both underwater]

[rollplayinghouse]

[Yeah, she pretty much expected that from the beginning.

Once they're under, she spreads out her free arm and legs to feel the currents of the water running over them, but keeps her grip on his hand steady, staying close.]

[Hopefully very close, as he slips the hand at her cheek back around her neck - pulling her in]

[Most definitely, and the buoyancy of the water makes it easy to pull her even closer.]

[Well. Hope she did indeed take a deep breath of air, because Intensity is pulling her into a kiss. Underwater. Like you do]

[rollplayinghouse]

[Like you do.

Maki is a bit surprised at that move, but she reacts quickly and makes an effort to breathe out slowly through her nose so she doesn't inhale any water as her lips part automatically for the kiss.]

[He makes a pleased sound, probably inaudible underwater and captures those parted lips with his own. No need to worry about silly things like air, Maki. Now they can share what they both have.

This is actually probably not how the physics of underwater kissing works, but when has anything trivial — like the laws of the universe — ever stopped Intensity.]

[Physics or not, Maki can at least hold her breath for quite a while—at least in normal circumstances. In this situation it is significantly harder, making it obvious just how much her body normally responds to a kiss as she has to restrain her responses to keep from going breathless too quickly. She grabs his water-logged clothes with her free hand to hold herself steady.]
