IMPOCALYPSE
BATTLE MECHANICS
Note: characters that are heavily injured may acquire corruptions. There will be heavy maiming.
- This is a turn-based fight. PCs will take their turn, the boss will react, and then the boss will take their turn. Players will react and take their turn, and so on and so forth.
- You may take up to six actions in one turn, including dodge. You may attack up to 6 times if you're not dodging, and you can attack even if you are dodging or fail to dodge. If a swing delivers more than one attack (throwing multiple projectiles at the same time) then it's counted as one "action".
- With every strike/blow/attack, .roll 1d6 twice (or !2d6. MAKE SURE TO DO IT THIS WAY BECAUSE NADEKO IS A TRAITOR. The first dice determines whether your attack succeeds or fails, with 1-3 as fail and 4-6 as success. The second dice determines how much damage you inflict on the boss. Please include both numbers with your comment on your turn.
- Roll for every strike, not for every turn. If your character decides to shoot 4 times in succession, roll a 2d6 for every bullet.
- Green text can be dodged, but red text is guaranteed damage. Dodge by using a 1d6, 1-3 as fail and 4-6 as success.
- UNIT ABILITY MECHANICS ARE HERE, but please note: this is not the end-all be-all of how these powers can be used, and these are not the only powers that can be used in a fight, these are just the ones that affect rolls specifically. The session's runner always has the final say, so ask if you want to do something cool but you don't think it's street legal. (It probably is.)
Note: characters that are heavily injured may acquire corruptions. There will be heavy maiming.
EFFECTS LIST
- Black substance, both sticky and acidic
- A sticky substance that seems to cling to everything it touches, and is impossible to pull off. It melts through flesh, but the more it melts, the more it seems to become absorbed. Sufficient absorption of this substance in any capacity (skin absorption, digestion) will result in corruptions that may be permanent. May be removed by severing the affected area, or by bringing the affected area to the deadzone.

Re: PLAYER (RE)ACTION
[Problem is now that he's down on the ground, K isn't sure he can get up again. His leg feels huge and heavy and looks painfully wrong; his shoulder's fucked, just breathing hurts, and then there's--
[Jesus.
[Well, that's not good--]
Re: PLAYER (RE)ACTION
Blue Eyes swoops down and does a tail lash (4) - sorry, that's going to hurt - to scoop K up and on her back. And now it's time to get the fuck out of dodge (5) before that tidal wave can completely bury K in it's poison mass.
Up to the sunless sky, they go.]
Re: PLAYER (RE)ACTION
[He thinks the next bit of pain must be it, but it isn't. What happens afterward (and there's an afterward?) he's lying across something smooth and cool and feeling the ground drop away beneath him, both of them.]
Jesus.
[He reaches out with his uninjured hand and rests it against Blue Eyes's neck. Everything hurts.
[He feels good.]

I've got you--hold on.

(No worries about the whiplash, everyone knows Heroes Never Die)]

[He presses gratitude out her way, over the emotionshare link - holds on, tight as he can, and then they're moving. It's too fast for him, even if it's fine for her; the force of it snaps his neck]
[He ought to be dead]
[At very least, he ought to not be able to get back up again]
[But Heroes Never Die, and somehow, someway, he manages to let go of her - to get his legs under him to manage a landing. It's not graceful, by any means - but he's standing, and he slashes at the creature they're standing on, cutting into it for all he's worth]

So it's no surprise that two of the attacks he tries to make miss entirely ( 2 3 ).
Those that do connect hit for ( 5 4 ) with the additional ( 2 ) for deadzone mud, for a total of ( 11 ) damage.
Almost as soon as he gets those hits in, he crumples back away from the action.]
Re: PLAYER (RE)ACTION
Through his blurred vision, he attempts to try and once again Polarize the parts of the monster that are closing up on/eating the other idols, but maybe he misjudged the distance or who knows, it's super ineffective (2).
Good thing Blue Eyes knows what to do on her own.]
Re: PLAYER (RE)ACTION
I'm not... finished with you!
[ She summons up that same illusion she used before: around and behind her is a burst of sun-gold flame, backed by the red colors of dawn and shot through with that same quality of light she recalls from that time there was a crack in Imeeji's sky; this time, the illusory banner is joined by red camellia petals that seem to flake off her skin like scales.
It's all or nothing, naginata a seamless arc of motion as she dances from breeze to breeze.

but he can't collapse—not yet. he runs alongside the dragon, lashing out at it with a flurry of kicks and trying to take off as many heads as he can in the process (attack rolls: 4 5 3 2, damage: 5). ]
Re: PLAYER (RE)ACTION
Unfortunately, hiryuu doesn't manage to avoid either the burning tidal wave or the poisonous gas. For...tu...nately? When you are a zombie, that does not matter; burning and choking, she advances on the monster, hacking at it with her Heart Weapon, Sabre's bloodlust numbing the pain to the back of her mind--although even all that pain, her friends' pain, only serves to boost her determination.

princessqueen—the same goes for Hurricane and Nemesis although they are more resilient rather than like, just being too good for poison. Kohime's bid to reach Sabre even punctures through the bone, and she'll reach her, touching the sword——and perhaps that's what it takes for it to start crumbling, only laid more to waste by Cardinal and Lance and
Intensityand Amaranth—she can recognize as she moves several of the heads stopping to stare, to recoil, stalled for Man Eater to kick them into dissolution. With Hiryuu's blows, too, the whole creature is laid waste. It completely turns to ash, the tidal wave scattering into the wind—however, with the ash so heavily in the air, you'll find yourself suffocating on it if you don't roll well. Fortunately for Sabre, Nemesis, Cardinal, Amaranth, and Hiryuu, they don't have to roll because they are unfortunately definitely suffocating from the ash.
Everyone affected by the ash will be coughing up ash for the next few hours, and generally be weaker and winded. You may also be affected by a corruption if you wish.
Also, now two cats are holding the evil sword. Is anyone going to do anything about that. ]
Re: END
however, poison gas was already something Hunny was dealing with along with being temporarily devoured by a big undead dragon and also a broken ankle.
when Hunny turns back to being human, Hunny's just going to be on both knees, hacking and wheezing. ]
Re: END
Her gold eyes have a metallic shine to them, and even when the rest of the illusion falls away, there are still petal-like red scales at the edges of her cheeks and on the ridges of her collarbones. ]

[It appears in a flash of brilliant light, a very good bird about the size of a person. It's as quick in the air as he is on the ground, and it darts beneath Hurricane to stop his fall, and then beneath Nemesis to stop hers]
