Hey, there's some junk in here that's not in the right spots. Take a good look around and fix that jazz. Everything's got a place or whatever.

"Well, you don't gotta be. I want your attention, too." This comes out self-conscious as well, her face turned a little away. Nevertheless she laces their fingers; hesitantly brings her free hand to take Req's other one as well.

"Like--I ain't sayin' it should all be on you. You're always independent and cool and got a lot going on all the time, so I-- I mean, I try not to get in your way too much. But just--if you want more space, you can say so. And if you want less space, you can say that, too. I wanna...I'll listen, at least."

"I-- nah, I don't, but--" she hesitates-- does her skin feel a little cooler? Surely not.

"I mean, no reason for me to take you away from peeps that need you more. I thought you were happy, with things like this...?"

She ridges her brows, but keeps her tone soft. "Are you happy with it?"

Earnestly:

"You being happy makes me happier than I can really say. "

"I ain't questioning that. And it's the same for me, believe it or not." She squeezes their linked hands, cheeks warm, and makes a really good case for herself to shut up.

But she's never been great at doing that when she ought to, and pushes on, smile going a little smaller. "If you gotta be unhappy just so I can be happy...that don't seem like the best arrangement. And maybe that ain't how it is, in which case, great. But if it is--or if it becomes that way--we should prolly do something about it...that's all I'm saying."

"I'm not unhappy. Could never be, 'round you," she says, frowning now, and squeezes your hands-- her skin seems a little paler...

But she pulls one hand away, to reach for that yellow tulip you had set down and tuck it gently behind your ear, voice a low murmur when she says, "... I just think you should be with the people you love."

Well--

Well.

Well...

"...Maybe I am."

And she somehow only squirms a little, though her face finds some of the color Req's has lost. "More importantly--if you wanna be with me sometimes, then I think you should be with me. Because that's what I want, if that's what you want."

Now, finally she looks away, awkward. "...Anyways, we don't gotta talk about this now; ain't trying to be a distraction."

Oh

She kind of looks like she's short circuited for a moment, cheeks warm, before she manages to rally.

"I-- always wanna be with you. For reals."

Nemesis flushes a little deeper at that, still a little awkwardly nervous but possibly the good kind for once. "Uh, okay. Cool." She shifts, running her thumb over the back of their joined hands.

She doesn't move for a long moment, just squeezing your hand and leaning towards you.

And she hesitates a moment before gently bumping her head to yours. "... should probably get ready."

Nemesis hums acknowledgement, though does not attempt to move away. "Should make sure I got a good seat. Can I...?" And she gently raises a hand to touch Req's face, leans in closer.

She blinks, but doesn't move, letting you do whatever.

"--Yeah?"

And she leans in for a kiss, lips gentle and hand warm against her cheek.

She meets you for that eagerly, but keeps it gentle, squeezing your hand.

She doesn’t push, just savoring the lingering warmth; the faint taste of food(?) on Req’s lips. When it breaks, she only noses in for an Eskimo kiss instead.

“...You really up for this show?”

She hums, comfortably warm, and nuzzles you back.

"Yeah... I'll be fine. Everyone's already here anyway."

“Okay. I’ll catch you after then, if that’s okay.”

She looks to the other flower she brought—-is it still a rosebud or has it somehow become something else?

It's still a rosebud!

She hesitates a moment. "Sure-- are you gonna watch...?"

"Course." She takes the rose and tucks it behind Req's ear (the thorns having been disposed of). "You mind?"

She blinks, confused for a moment. ... but her cheeks darken, and she hunches her shoulders a little, touched and a little embarrassed.

"No-- 'course not. I want you here," she says, giving your hand one last squeeze and your cheek a soft kiss before she pulls away to stand, grabbing one of the outfits off of the closet rack.

"Okay." She scratches her nose and just watches Req before getting to her feet--grabbing the satchel again. "...Guess I should leave you to it. So--break a leg, I guess."

She turns to smile back at you.

"See you out there."

Nods, slow, then makes to leave backstage, to head for a good spot in the venue.

You find a pretty good spot, as some fans make way for you with a smile and a gesture, over here over here.

As Requiem ascends the stage with her bass not long after, with some new digs, it seems like the concert's about to start.

She settles with the others as the music opens. She keeps mostly quiet throughout the show, hands knotting in the strap of her bag as she listens intently to the music--attempts to catch the lyrics.
